| Jay_Ibero_91105-13-07, 12:42 AM | I'm posting this for a friend who doesn't have an account and doesn't feel like making one: This is a guest post through a friend’s account, but in brief, here’s the character quandary. I have two concepts, and three executions. Which is the best and most thematic? Concept (A): A conservative bookkeeper for a L/N temple like Zilchus. Human, unassuming, but vaguely commanding. Concept (B): A somewhat stupid, but “cute” half-orc with a name along the lines of “bright eyes”. Add to this three build concepts: Concept (a): A Monk 4 that goes into Bard. Has primarily dexterity and charisma skills (Escape Artist, Tumble, Perform), and plays the drums in his hands while he kicks people to death. Concept (b): A Bard 3 that goes into Monk. As above, but with a stronger early focus in UMD and Gather Information. Concept ©: a Monk 5 that takes a level or two of Sorcerer for Mage Armor (etc.), and has a 15 AC from Wisdom and Dexterity, +1 from Monk 5. Focus on wisdom-based skills, like profession. The concepts (a) and (b) would have skill layouts something like this: 15/16 Strength, 14 Dexterity, 12 Constitution, 8 Intelligence, 14 Wisdom, 10/11/12 Charisma While concept © would focus more like: 15/16 Strength, 14 Dexterity, 12 Constitution, 8 Intelligence, 15/16 Wisdom, X Charisma I’m not sure of the best combination of these three bits, but I’d like to make a character that’s fun to play. Be it half-orc (for darkvision, cheap 16 strength) or human (for +1 skill point/level, +1 feat), I’m not sure either. Thoughts? |
