| tlotig07-27-07, 03:32 PM | I would like to play a skull clan hunter in greyhawk ruins. Does any one know of any meta orgs i could join to provide me with this access? Ones that don't want unreasonable things like living in their home region or playing one of their mods? *grin* |
| UMiskatonic07-27-07, 06:05 PM | The Verbobonc church of Pelor grants access, assuming you live in the area and deserve it. |
| tlotig07-28-07, 08:50 AM | and if i dont? I want this to be a ruins character |
| UMiskatonic07-28-07, 03:17 PM | Well, then you should hope that an AR gives you access. If your region is Greyhawk, then you don't live anywhere else, and therefore can't join anyone else's meta-orgs. |
| bitznarf07-28-07, 03:54 PM | Not entirely accurate UMiskatonic. There are some metaorgs that do not require residency. |
| UMiskatonic07-29-07, 03:49 PM | You show me the non-residency access to Skullclan Hunter, and I'll happily admit I'm wrong. Until then, though, I stand by the above. I think the -OP- is out of luck. |
| bitznarf07-29-07, 03:51 PM | I didn't realize you were talking about skull clan hunter in particular. Sure didn't sound like it. |
| _metz_07-29-07, 07:11 PM | Perrenland gives you access, but its not easy to get. |
| tlotig07-31-07, 02:16 AM | Perranland also requires you to play a mod there and have residiency. Once more for the hard of hearing Ones that don't want unreasonable things like living in their home region or playing one of their mods? |
| _metz_07-31-07, 02:42 AM | Perranland also requires you to play a mod there and have residiency. Once more for the hard of hearing Ones that don't want unreasonable things like living in their home region or playing one of their mods? Thats not exactly an unreasonable request to be quite frank. Its called SkullClan for a reason. Its an affiliated PrC. Its not like PrCs that just require some specialisation. (e.g: exotic weapon master). You have to join the group of hunters. For you, who appears to be hard of hearing yourself - it isn't out there in a metaorg with no requirements. And if it was in a mod it would be illegal to tell you which mod. Considering the breadth of options offered in Greyhawk Ruins, I would suggest you play an unseen seer with the rogue alternative class features. Otherwise, re2quest a special mission for it, and play it as an APL 2 before Greyhawk Ruins starts. Those are your options. |
| Eric Anondson07-31-07, 02:48 AM | Thats not exactly an unreasonable request to be quite frank.Oh but it is part of a Triad's legendary "take-away-people's-fun-ability" that inpinges on the belief that all rules options are there for players to use and Triads should do their best to get it to players without hindrance. Thus unreasonable. [/sarcasm] |

| UMiskatonic07-31-07, 10:17 AM | A level of the right caster class would give you access to grave strike at least three times a day, probably more. Do you think you'll need it way more than that? Three cleric levels can do a lot for a rogue, and give you two domains, and give you a lot of useful sneaky spells, like silence, and augury, and a bunch of detect XX, and grave strike. Trickery domain adds the ever-popular invisibility... Better still, with two pearls of power, you're probably good for the whole mod with grave strikes aplenty. |
| Sieylianna07-31-07, 05:28 PM | My favored soul picked up access from a meta-org, but that's not as important to her as picking up Ruathar access and 1st level mementa magica. Ed |
| DerekSTheRed08-05-07, 09:23 PM | I have a rogue who got access to Skullclan Hunter through a BK meta-org. The BK has a couple of meta-orgs that grant access to Skullclan Hunter and yes they all require residency. Your home region doesn't have to be Greyhawk for your character to be a Greyhawk Ruins character. That may not be what you want though. My rogue character is fifth (Rogue 4 / Cleric 1) and will be taking the PrC next level. So far though I regret it. The class just isn't as powerful as people make it out. You give up too many sneak attack dice to everything so that your sneak attack will work on undead too. You still won't be able to sneak attack elementals, constructs, or plants. I also saw access to a Greater Truedeath weapon crystal (on another character naturally) which pretty much makes the Skullclan Hunter obsolete. If I had a rebuild I would just take a level of Wizard with golem strike and go unseen seer. You choose gravestrike as one of your expanded learning choices. Now you can sneak attack either constructs or undead as many times as you have first level spells. And you don't give up any sneak attack dice in the process. Derek |
| retro08-05-07, 09:37 PM | If you really want to play a Skullclan Hunter in Greyhawk Ruins, your best option is to suck it up and play a Perrenland character. Although Greyhawk is an available home region for Ruins, it isn't mandatory- you just have to play the first Ruins adventure with a 1st level character. tlotig, your profile says that you are in Canberra, so I doubt that playing a Perrenland mod will be much of a problem for you after SRDU, when NSW goes back to Perrenland (lucky sod... :) ). |
