Alternative to Well-Read? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Mommy was an Orc
03-02-07, 10:23 AM I'm making up a new character who will be a Beguiler with Arcane Disciple at 1st level - which means I need 4 ranks of Knowledge(religion) at that point. Does anyone know of a feat other than Well-Read that would give Knowledge(Religion) as a class skill?

I have access to Well-Read, and eventually, I'll retrain out of it in a complicated legal way, but I'd prefer something a bit more narrow.

Have you looked at regional and meta-org feats?

03-02-07, 10:32 AM What race are you planning on being? There are quite a few racial feats that grant bonus Knowledge skills.

03-02-07, 11:11 AM Human, either Flan or Touv(depending on deity) - if I'm not human, I don't get an extra feat at 1st level anyway which I must have - he thinks he's a favored soul of X because he casts spells from the Healing Domain.

Probably going to be Pelor for all kinds of reasons(a little insane from spending too much time in the Sun) but it could be Vogan or Zodal.

I don't think there's anything besides Well Read that is gonna work for you. Why exactly don't you like Well Read anyway? Flavor reasons? Look at it this way...if he's only taking ranks in Knowledge Religion, then it doesn't really matter if the other knowledges are class skills or not, does it?

The Well-Read + Storm God + Touv + Beguiler part. Sounds like cherry picking and it will get weird reactions - "You're a well-read Touv Beguiler who worships a Storm God???"
