When I saw that 'Greyhawk Method' was available for 1st lvl characters playing Greyhawk Ruins, I went out and pick up the dragon magazine issue so I'd have access (turns up I already had that issue, need to keep better track of my inventory); The feat increases spells learned for a level of wizard to 4; Unfortunately, I don't have a good idea how to 'work' meta-magic feats into a build; the basic idea is a simple Gray Elf Wizard Generalist who gets ahead and stay ahead of the gold curve; I'd like to get this guy into born of the three thunders, but am not sure how to do while keeping 'Greyhawk Method';

'Kenny' (I see this guy dying alot until I get him an amulet of health)

Wizard 1-6
1 - Greyhawk Method, *Scribe Scroll
3 CWI
5 Craft Wands?
6 Skill focus Kw Religion?
Divine Oracle 7-9?
Loremaster?

The only arcane I have played have been a straight illusionist I played as a warmage, and then a warmage (I like blowing things up);

Well, grab false life and a rat familiar, that should help.

You can -make- an amulet of health, that should help a great deal.

USE that scribe scroll feat. You should have loads of spells, so there is no excuse not to have the scroll for the job. Often you'll only need one, say comprehend languages or protection from chaos, scroll.

Then there's the other category of scrolls, the ones that are 100% until your life depends on them, like water breathing and gust of wind.

I'd stay away from rays and orbs for a while, cuz you'll miss a lot. Focus on saving throw spells like necromancy and evocation, and use that high INT.
