You guessed it! Another Fighter build. This time it's a two-handed weapon specialist.

Human

Str 16, Dex 10, Con 15, Int 10, Wis 14, Cha 8

1: Fighter 1 - Monkey Grip, Power Attack, *Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Goliath Greathammer)
2: Fighter 2 - *Weapon Focus (Goliath Greathammer)
3: Fighter 3 - Combat Focus
4: Fighter 4 - *Weapon Specialization (Goliath Greathammer), Str 17
5: Fighter 5
6: Fighter 6 - Combat Stability, *Brutal Strike
7: Fighter 7
8: Fighter 8 - *Melee Weapon Mastery (Bludgeoning), Str 18
9: Fighter 9 - Improved Critical (Goliath Greathammer)
10: Fighter 10 - *Greater Weapon Focus (Goliath Greathammer)
11: Fighter 11
12: Fighter 12 - Combat Vigor, *Greater Weapon Specialization (Goliath Greathammer), Con 16
13: Fighter 13
14: Fighter 14 - *Crushing Strike
15: Barbarian 1 - Extra Rage

*Fighter Bonus Feat.

This build takes full advantage of a Large Goliath Greathammer. With a +3 weapon, it does 3d6+22 damage at 15th level while raging and has a 19/x4 crit range. When enlarged it does 4d6+24 damage.

When power attacking, opponents must make a Fort save based on damage dealt or become sickened for a round.

With Crushing Blow, the attack roll bonus just gets better.

Decent saves + excellent damage + excellent HP = dead monster.

do you have access to a large great hammer from 1st? or does the goliath great hammer only come in large, since goilath have that ability to use large weapons at no penatiles?

From the LGCS:

Open Items
"All items may be of any size from Tiny to Large and of either normal or masterwork quality."

Goliath Greathammers are on table 7-1 of Races of Stone. As such I can purchase a Large Goliath Greathammer as soon as I can afford one.

I'm guessing that wasn't the intent... but if it is, then I have a monkey gripping tank that's gonna be buying himself a nice shiny new weapon :D

It should be noted that anything you find on an AR is assumed to be sized for your character unless a size is listed.

Yes, but what about what you have Open access to? I'm of the mind that it is intended to be access to appropriately sized items (for you or familiar, etc).

But if the rule is meant to mean any sized item, then I can get the ones I want...

On another note, the save for Brutal Strike isn't based on total damage, it's based on how much extra damage you get from power attack. FOr instance, if you made a brutal strike with a 2 handed weapon and power attacked for 5, your bonus damage would be 10, and therefore the fort save would be DC 20.

At lvl 15 this build can PA for 10 and still be ~+20 to hit before extraneous buffs like Haste and Recitation.

That'd be a DC30 Fort save.

Most NPCs that I've seen aren't built to make saves that high automatically.

Take the barbarian level much earlier. Why not?

And one level of exotic weapon master would do you a world of good. You can afford 3 ranks in Craft (weapon) Take a look at Awesome Blow for starters.

I'd go con 16 in a hot minute. Drop wisdom to balance. I know your will save will be bad, but oh well. adding +1 or +2 more will mean that it's still bad, just not as much. On the other hand, you will ALWAYS need more hp.

very nice built i might pinch it form my ruins character with a few mods such as taking improved buckler defense at 1st and taking other ac buffing feats instead of going down the the combat focus line. pure fighters rock at being featasic.:D

I assume you mean Uncanny Blow, and that wouldn't do anything for the build because the Greathammer is not a 1 handed weapon. Also, there's no point in losing 2 points of Wisdom for 1 point of con with the current build, because without an odd stat to begin with, you wind up with an odd stat at 12th level.

That, and the build is taking combat focus feats from the PHB2 as soon as level 3, which need 13 wisdom, if I recall correctly.
