| Alpha_Nerd02-20-07, 10:28 AM | Ok guys, so I really want to make a Blade Bravo, but I'm having problems figuring out how to make sure I can do something on the battlefield besides being small and annoying. This is what I've got so far. Gnome: Rogue 3/Swashbuckler 3/Blade Bravo 9 STR 12 DEX 15 CON 16 INT 14 WIS 10 CHA 8 1 Rogue: Two-Weapon Fighting 2 Swashbuckler: Weapon Finesse 3 Swashbuckler: Combat Expertise 4 Swashbuckler: DEX +1 5 Rogue 6 Rogue: Weapon Focus: Rapier 7 Blade Bravo 8 Blade Bravo: DEX +1 9 Blade Bravo: Dodge, Titan Fighting 10 Blade Bravo 11 Blade Bravo 12 Blade Bravo: DEX +1, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Underfoot Combat 13 Blade Bravo 14 Blade Bravo 15 Blade Bravo: Greater Two-Weapon Fighting, Confound the Big Folk The level 9-15 feats could move around if I need them to, but I'd like to keep those 6 in the build. The build ends up with 4d6 sneak attack and a BAB of +14. I was thinking about trying the unseen seer dip on this character to help his Will Save, but I'm not sure how well that will work out. Rogue 2/Swash 1/Fighter 2/Wiz 1/US 2/Blade Bravo 7? BAB +12 3d6 Sneak 1 Rogue Two-Weapon Fighting 2 Swash Weapon Finesse 3 Fighter Combat Expertise, Weapon Focus: Rapier 4 Wizard: DEX +1 5 Rogue 6 Unseen Seer Dodge 7 Unseen Seer 8 Fighter: Titan Fighting, DEX +1 9 Blade Bravo: Underfoot Combat 10 Blade Bravo 11 Blade Bravo: Improved Two-Weapon Fighting 12 Blade Bravo: Confound the Big Folk, DEX +1 13 Blade Bravo 14 Blade Bravo: Greater Two-Weapon Fighting 15 Blade Bravo: Bonus Feat This build gets a little wonky with skill points, but I think it all works out? Finally, the third build is similar to the first, but with Fighter levels. Rogue 3/Swashbuckler 2/Fighter 2/Blade Bravo 8 1 Rogue Two-Weapon Fighting 2 Swashbuckler Weapon Finesse 3 Fighter Combat Expertise, Weapon Focus: Rapier 4 Swashbuckler DEX +1 5 Rogue 6 Rogue Daring Outlaw 7 Fighter Improved Two-Weapon Fighting 8 Blade Bravo DEX +1 9 Blade Bravo Underfoot Combat 10 Blade Bravo Dodge 11 Blade Bravo 12 Blade Bravo DEX +1, Confound the Big Folk 13 Blade Bravo Greater Two-Weapon Fighting 14 Blade Bravo 15 Blade Bravo Titan Fighting This one ends up with BAB +14, 5d6 Sneak Attack, an exp penalty at 6th, fixing at 7th, but the same Will Save problem the first build had. |

Rogue 3/Swashbuckler 12 does +8d6 Sneak with the Daring Outlaw feat...I'm not saying that's a great build, but a lot of the 'not quite a Rogue with fullBAB' PrCs got demolished with that feat. |
| Alpha_Nerd02-20-07, 11:13 AM | I see where you're coming from. In that case, I'll just explain what I was hoping the Blade Bravo was going to do and you could help me Iron him out without actually taking Blade Bravo. I was hoping to utilize Titan Fighting, the Size Advantage Ability, and the Underfoot Combat feats in order to get my AC high enough without having to Expertise. I was planning on doing damage with Sneak, Insightful Strike, or both while Two-Weapon Fighting. |
| Alpha_Nerd02-20-07, 11:25 AM | What if you used Unseen Seer to qualify for Daring Outlaw? Human Rogue 2/Wiz 1/Unseen Seer 2/Fighter 1/Swashbuckler 9 STR 14 DEX 15 CON 14 INT 14 WIS 10 CHA 8 1 Rogue: Two-Weapon Fighting 2 Swashbuckler: Weapon Finesse 3 Swashbuckler: Feat 4 Wizard: DEX +1 5 Rogue 6 Unseen Seer: Daring Outlaw 7 Unseen Seer 8 Swashbuckler: DEX +1 9 Fighter: Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Staggering Strike 10 Swashbuckler 11 Swashbuckler 12 Swashbuckler: DEX +1, Feat 13 Swashbuckler 14 Swashbuckler 15 Swashbuckler: Feat This also lets you splash fighter levels if you really need the feats as you won't have any sort of EXP Penalty. 7d6 Sneak, 12 BAB, 2nd level Wizard Spells including Bladeweave, Golem Strike, and Grave Strike? |

I assume it's the Underfoot Combat ones, and I agree with you there as they got cut in the latest installment of my Swashbuckler. |

Only problem with that is I think the BAB hit is a bit on the high side - at APL 6 you're a +3 BAB character with likely an 18 Dex doing TWF. Which is to say, ouch... |
| Jay_Ibero_91102-20-07, 12:24 PM | Race:Gnome Alignment:Whatever STR-14 (6)-2 DEX-15 (8) CON-14 (6)+2 INT-14 (6) WIS-8 (0) CHA-10 (2) Lv1(Swashbuckler)Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus (Rapier) Lv2(Fighter)Dodge Lv3(Fighter)Combat Expertise, Deadly Defense Lv4(Swashbuckler)+1 DEX Lv5(Swashbuckler) Lv6(Blade Bravo)Giantbane Lv7(Blade Bravo) Lv8(Blade Bravo)Mobility, +1 DEX Lv9(Blade Bravo)Elusive Target Lv10(Blade Bravo) Lv11(Blade Bravo)Bonus Feat Lv12(Blade Bravo)Titan Fighting, +1 DEX Lv13(Blade Bravo) Lv14(Blade Bravo)Bonus Feat Lv15(Blade Bravo)Feat Here's my idea for Blade Bravo....Personally I like the Giantbane feat MUCH better than Confound the Big Folk.....Deadly Defense is nice for an extra 1d6 whenever you Combat Expertise for 2, and you get Insightful Strike, so you can do more than 1 damage...Deadly Defense is also nice because it is not precision damage... |
| Alpha_Nerd02-20-07, 12:59 PM | Only problem with that is I think the BAB hit is a bit on the high side - at APL 6 you're a +3 BAB character with likely an 18 Dex doing TWF. Which is to say, ouch... It does hit a low point in BAB at 6th level, but I'll also have 3d6 sneak and 1st level wizard spells. A Rogue 6 has a BAB of 4 at 6th, 3d6 sneak attack, making me one behind him in BAB and right at progression for sneak. So, I'll only be +6 or so to hit while TWF (+4 dex +3 BAB +1 Masterworks -2 TWF) but my hits will be pretty solid. Also, after 6 I've got fighter BAB, so it starts to pick itself up. |
