| Britt02-24-07, 12:49 PM | How are you getting 8d6 sneak attack with two levels of rogue? Devoted Inquisitor doesn't make paladin and rogue stack or anything like that. My secondary character was a rogue3/paladin2/marshal1/exemplar1/spymaster6. Now that Grey Guard is legal, I would probably have added that early on. I took Improved Smiting, Extra Smiting, and Devoted Inquisitor, and that worked out fairly well, though 3 smites a day seemed too little sometimes. |
| Donald_Cannith02-25-07, 02:21 AM | You know what that was me getting over exctited upon seeignthe other feats similar to that and simply not reading at all. WHat is Grey Guard from because I like the idea of the evil smiting sneak attacker, sort of like The shadow bane inquisitor, but I am confused by the wording of the reuirements for it so i was looing for a way to get the same or better effect earlier on. Any Suggestions? |
| Britt02-25-07, 02:38 AM | Grey Guard is from Complete Scoundrel and basically makes you a flexible paladin, ala Jack Bauer. You get 1/2 spellcasting, an extra smite 1/4 levels, more flexible code of conduct and atonement, flexible alignment smiting, and the ability to use your lay on hands to sicken or damage (which means a melee touch attack with no SR, so you can sneak attack high AC targets that have SR!). |
| Donald_Cannith02-25-07, 02:52 AM | Oh That is good: Hmm how about; Rogue 2/Paladin 4/Gray Guard 3/ Rogue X the only trouble I can see is the sneak attack damage in this is nonexistent until way down the line. Or is this just me ? |
| Britt02-25-07, 02:55 AM | Unfortunately, I think for sneak attack damage you'd have to go into rogue PrCs. I was using Spymaster (which decreased sneak attack dice in CAd :(). If you want more of the paladin feel, you have to give up some of the sneak attack dice. |
| Donald_Cannith02-25-07, 03:16 AM | * sigh* i suppose so. I just dont really like Shadowbane inquisitor because alot of its abilities are kinda useles considering you dont get spells( well except bonus spells) as a 4th level Paladin and some of his abilities are powered by spells. I COULD go battle Cleric with destruction domain but I already ahve a cleric and im trying to branch out a bit. |
| Mommy was an Orc02-25-07, 09:37 AM | You might want to look at Swashbuckler and Daring Outlaw. Rogue 4/Paladin 4/Swashbuckler 7 has +6d6 of Sneak Attack with only a penalty of 1 to BAB. It does kind of kill the mount, though, but at 9th level, you're a Rogue 3/Paladin 4/Swashbuckler 2 who does +3d6 of Sneak. |
