| Jay_Ibero_91107-26-07, 11:48 AM | I know the access is out there now, and I was curious as to what ideas people had to make the best use out of the Shapeshift alternate class feature. Here were my ideas: Race:Half-Orc Alignment: STR-14 (6)+2 DEX-14 (6) CON-14 (6) INT-10 (2)-2 WIS-15 (8) CHA-8 (0)-2 Lv1(Barbarian)Extra Rage Lv2(Druid)Shape-Shift Lv3(Druid)Reckless Rage Lv4(Druid)+1 WIS Lv5(Druid) Lv6(Warshaper)Power Attack Lv7(Warshaper) Lv8(Druid)+1 STR Lv9(Druid)Feat Lv10(Druid) Lv11(Druid) Lv12(Druid)Feat, +1 STR Lv13(Druid) Lv14(Druid) Lv15(Druid)Feat Ends up just hitting 40 strength at 15th level with the tree form option, for 2 attacks at +28 for 1d8+18. Extra damage available with power attack, produce flame, and fires of purity to name a few. Basically a raw brute. Here's another idea: Race:Human Alignment: STR-15 (8) DEX-14 (6) CON-14 (6) INT-10 (2) WIS-14 (6) CHA-8 (0) Lv1(Monk)Unarmed Strike, Improved Grapple, Power Attack, Feat Lv2(Druid)Shape-Shift Lv3(Barbarian)Extra Rage Lv4(Druid)+1 STR Lv5(Druid) Lv6(Druid)Reckless Rage Lv7(Warshaper) Lv8(Warshaper)+1 WIS Lv9(Warshaper)Feat Lv10(Warshaper) Lv11(Druid) Lv12(Druid)Feat, +1 WIS Lv13(Druid) Lv14(Druid) Lv15(Druid)Feat Ends up with only 34 strength, but gets the benefit of effective grappling, as well as the use of unarmed strikes and flurry, adding 2-3 extra attacks with flurry and iteratives and then following up with natural attacks on the end. The monk AC bonus partially makes up for the lower natural armor from not having the forest avenger form. However you do get morphic reach and morphic healing which add a lot to the mix as well. Neither build focuses much on casting, as it will pretty much all be done out of combat or in the first round. And after the first few feats most of them are open to suggestion. Both these builds operate on the assumption that Shapeshift qualifies as a similar class feature for the purpose of qualifying for Warshaper... |

Well then you were given some mis-information, because I've seen access to it twice so far. Perhaps they meant that they weren't allowed to give it out for special missions, only normal adventures. |

The circle DOES allow the option.. if you can find access. |

Half Orc: Barbarian 2/ Druid 1/ Fighter 2/ Warshaper 4/ Outcast Champion X In essence, this build just uses the Druid Shapeshift class feature to gain amazing speed (60 feet after Shapeshift) and a bunch of powerful bonuses for grappling (though I use Fighter to grab the feats, rather than the moderately cheesy Monk/Barbarian alignment shuffle). Remember, in your wolf form, you get a +4 situational modifier to grapple because you're quadrupedal, and therefore stable. As you will notice, the build lacks significant spellcasting; I'm in the group that says that if you give up more than 2 caster levels over the course of your progression, you might as well just take the class in question as a dip for what you need (gish types aside). Regardless, Shapeshift is a very cool feature. Use it for whatever you please. |
| haferka08-20-07, 10:57 AM | I would prefer a build like so... 15/14/15/8/12/8 Druid 1/Barbarian 1/Scout 6/Fighter 2/Warshaper 4 take the feat to stack Fighter/Scout for access to Weapon Specialization(bite), weapon mastery & greater weapon focus(bite). |

It gives bonuses to resist trip, bull rush, and disarm, but nothing to grapple. |

The only combat maneuvers that describe a bonus for creatures with 4 or more legs are those already mentioned by Jay_Ibero_911... |
