| RavenLoft_Story07-27-07, 12:42 AM | Here it is, the tin can. Basically this guy calls Test of mettle to aggro the enemies and then holds them for the others to finish them. Enemies can't tumble out because of the ridiculous DC and of the rough terrain that is around him. Although I'd like to have that guy actually DO damage. Anybody could have a suggestion? Gives you an addition HP per level, which really actually helps in a tight situation. On top of that, it outlasts Toughness in usefulness. On a second note, it's hard for your character to actually be effective as a Fighter would be, being that majority of your feats are geared towards defense. I think you have a solid build right there...right in around level 8, you'll start to realize how truly powerful and useful your character is. My advice to you? Find a buddy that plays a heavy-hitting character with a reach weapon. Utilizing that, have him hide behind you and attack from afar. Dwarves are short for a reason. On a third note, spend all of your cash for the better AC. Rings of Deflection, Armor enchantments, Tower shield enchantments, Ioun stones- all of it. I've seen it in play before with a Dwarven defender who got his AC to about 53. He's about Level 14, IIRC. He's a pretty effective Power Attacker, as well. |

A knight doesn't have a +2 base fort save at 1st level, thus he can't take imp toughness at that level. 2. Imp toughness does not count as toughness for prereqs and he needs toughness to get into dwarven defender. My main suggestion as to changes is to squeeze titan fighting in there somewhere, perhaps instead of imp expertise. |

You'll need 3 ranks in craft weapons, which any self-respecting dwarf should already have, and weapon focus waraxe. Then, you can use the waraxe for x2 Str and power attack with it as if it were two handed. ------------------------------------------------------ The hard part about this build, I mean HARD, is knowing when to power attack, and when to turtle up. If you get that right, this build is fantastic. Get it wrong, and you'll notice your comrades getting cut to shreds in very long battles. That's a sign you aren't doing enough damage. |
