Hey guys,

I'm considering playing this guy in the upcoming Greyhawk series, or else the adaptable for 1st level characters only. We'll see. Anyway, I was looking for a little feedback... I've asked the group of mates who I'll be primarily playing with what they think (and since I'll be playing with them I might adjust the build to better adapt to their needs), but some broader feedback would probably be good.

The basic idea is for a two-weapon fighting axe+spiked shield combo. Current ideas I'm playing with are taking Improved Shield Bash later and throwing Improved Toughness in there, but that means I won't be two-weapon fighting for some time... probably not until level 9.

Anyway here's what I've got...

Pros and cons:
+ Extremely high constitution score, rage and d12/d10 base classes makes for a buttload of hit points.
+ Extra Rage means rage in every combat.
+ Extremely high Fortitude saving throw (due to maxed Constitution score and mutting).
+ Cannot fail Fortitude saving throws on a natural "1". (by virtue of Steadfast Determination)
+ Very high Will saving throw. (by virtue of Steadfast Determination once again; adds Constitution modifier to Will saves instead of Wisdom modifier. Rage also adds +2 to Will saves.)
+ Reasonably high AC (Heavy shield, Constitution modifier to AC instead of Dexterity modifier, Open access on Thistledown armour will mean I can
still have armour enchants without reaching my 'max dex' cap)
- Low amount of skill points.
- Endurance feat is a waste, particularly at first level. Only serves as a prerequisite to Steadfast Determination.
- Somewhat underpowered at 1st and 2nd level.
- Low overall damage output.

That would be if they change it from the draft in the final version. Steadfast Determination is Closed in the draft of the LGCS.

Oh. I must have missed that one...

I'll check again when the final is posted on the Wizards list, unless there's somewhere else I can get it?

I love my Human Clerics, but my Dwarven Warriors come a close second. Nice build.

Thematically I think that you should look at the feat Blood-Spiked Charger. It has a lot of prereqs but it fits in my head for what you are going for.

It would require some shifts in your feat tree but it is kinda fun and uses the spiked shield and armor spikes to great effect.
Possibily taking a 3rd level of Ranger for Endurance frees up your first level feat and stead fast determination being closed frees up another. So the feats are doable... Also since you only plan on taking 2 levels of deep warden you will have feats later in life as well.
