I would ditch Occult Slayer and pick up more levels of Knight of the Chalice. My reasoning for this is as follows: a) Occult Slayer dilutes the build... I don't know how much you care about style, but my I feel like people would view the PC as "just another occult slayer archer" which is pretty boring and hackneyed. Knight of the Chalice is pretty unused. b) You don't need improved initative - you can get ranged weapon mastery ealier (which is a crucial feat for archers now) and then you can get improved favored enemy at 12 c) You save a ton on the skills One last thing... the point on the bow... it's not that out of the question. You'll probably get access to everything except the magebane with ease. Besides, Magebane is nerfed somewhat in MIC, allowing you to only use the bonus against creatures that can cast arcane spells... not spell-like abilities. Once that change is LG official, if ever, the ability would be useless against evil outsiders anyway... unless you're trying to be a "magebane" archer as well as an "evil outsider bane" archer. Just as an FYI - my buddy plays a Wood Elf Ranger 11/Fighter 1/Templar 3 of Elhonna with Improved Favored Enemy Evil Outsiders and a Holy Sacred Evil Outsider Bane Bow and uh... they vaporize when he acts. His attack bonus is approximately +40 with 5 shots per round and he deals quite a bit of damage per shot, as you can imagine. Also, his skills are fantastic for other things as well since it wasn't too much of a hit to just take 4 ranks in knowledge: religion. So it goes to show, you don't need to trick a PC out too much to be extremely effective against evil outsiders. |

As far as dumping Occult Slayer for more Knight of the Chalice, it's not too bad of a trade, and does move up feats and reduce skill needs...I have yet to actually start an archer, but after much tinkering I think this (perhaps with the slight modifications) would be what I make... |
