control freak 06-21-07, 06:25 PM	ok, i want to build a favored soul dwarf i think i will build it with something along the lines of this but the feats and everything are undecided (the spells will be the cures + something else possibly bull strength and sheild of faith and at higher levels delay death) i will run around with a dwarven war ax and something else 14 (6) 12 (4) 16 (6) 10 (2) 10 (2) 13 (8) what should i do besides the stats i want to be combat based but never lose a level of casting unless its for a CRAZY class ablity or for a really good combo heres my feat ideas so far for first level and 3rd Power attack whepon focus improved init what else? and any prestige classes that dont lose caster levels only please
Mattastrophic 06-21-07, 06:33 PM	Well, if casting's your game, you're better off as a dwarven Cleric. No wisdom penalty, and a much bigger spell list. Sure, your Reflex goes down, but you're a dwarf. What do you need Reflex for? -Matt

As for Weapon Focus, you can take War domain. As for Resist Energy, just cast it. As for the "not spontaneous" part, once you get the hang of it, you'll find that prep casters are way superior to spontaneous casters. Especially when you toss in Pearls of Power and Craft Wondrous Item. -Matt
control freak 06-21-07, 07:11 PM	all right then as for not being spontanious (which is the MAIN point that kind of makes me nervious about it) i need help on making it spontanious, and already have a high armored human cleric of pelor and all i prepair is sheild of faiths and what ever else other people tell me (although once i prepaired a summon 2) i keep my movement up with divine vigor (i do sacrafice a standard action, for 2 hp per level and 10 movement so essentialy i sacrafice a standard action to wear full plate with no negitives) anything else i shoud use? i have SPC if any spells in that are good and are open (i also have a few spells from frost burn i can use but not able to cast them yet cus of level) basicly my spell list would look like this 0- i dk what i even prepair usualy something worthless 1 - sheild of faith x3 bless x1 enlarge person x1(domain) and 1 PoP 2 - bull strengthx2 domain spiritual whepon x 2 and spiritual whepon was just recently changed to it because i didnt know how cool it could be, any thing else?
Mattastrophic 06-21-07, 08:08 PM	Lesser Vigor with Pearls of Power is very huge. Resurgence is also quite huge. Silence is really really good in the 2nd. So is Align Weapon as you go up. I think the question is... what do you want to do with your divine caster? Do you want to be a warrior or a healer? Front-line or stand-in-the-back? As for Favored Souls, though... IMO, if you wanted to do a Dwarf Favored Soul, I'd suggest starting off with 12 Cha, then going up to Favored Soul4 early on. You'll get saves of +4/+4/+4, right before hitting the second BAB gap point. Then, a Cloak of Charisma +2 will give you a bonus 2nd-level spell. You'll also pick up Weapon Focus. Then use other classes to build off your spellcasting, making sure to pick up a Cloak +4 around the time you hit FavoredSoul6 casting. I've been kicking around doing a Favored Soul of Mayaheine myself actually, mostly multiclassed with Paladin, though. Kind of a saves build. -Matt
