| Jay_Ibero_91102-16-07, 04:35 PM | If I were to throw a weapon would I use Melee Weapon Mastery or Ranged Weapon Mastery? Good question. Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization, which apply to a specific weapon regardless of how you use it, the Weapon Mastery feats apply to specific categories of weapons. For instance, If you had Melee Weapon Mastery (Piercing), and were using a dagger, you would only benefit from the feat when you used the dagger to do piercing damage, but not slashing damage. Similarly, if you had Ranged Weapon Mastery (Piercing), and were using a dagger, you would only benefit from the feat when you threw the dagger to do piercing damage. This is how I would interpret it anyway... |

| Jay_Ibero_91102-16-07, 04:56 PM | It comes down to a question of whether a melee weapon is still a melee weapon when it's being thrown... |
| Alpha_Nerd02-16-07, 05:06 PM | It's type doesn't change, it just has the ability to be thrown. I think that is why you can add strength to a thrown weapon. It's still a melee weapon, just being thrown at the time. |

If it's type doesn't change based on how it's used, then you couldn't qualify for Master Thrower with daggers, because they are not thrown weapons. They are melee weapons with a range increment. |
