Now that I can finally play my 12th cleric with people, I need to fix him on his next level up. Previously, on My Cleric Build...

Human Cleric 8 / Church Inquisitor 4 of Heironeous
Domains: War, Glory, Inquisition

Str: 14
Dex: 10
Con: 14
Int: 8
Wis: 19
Cha: 12

1 Cleric: Metamagic (Max), Extra Turning
2 Cleric
3 Cleric: (Open Feat)
4 Cleric: [Wisdom Bump]
5 Cleric
6 Cleric: (Open Feat)
7 Cleric
8 Cleric: [Wisdom Bump]
9 Church Inquisitor: Craft Wondrous Items
10 Church Inquisitor
11 Church Inquisitor
12 Church Inquisitor: [Wisdom Bump] Born Aloft
13 Church Inquisitor
14 Church Inquisitor
15 Church Inquisitor

Because of the nice little neutering job the circle did to my cleric, I don't have my Divine Metamagic anymore. So, all those nice healing spells that I maxed out to around 52 points are now gone. My flame strikes of 72 points are down the tubes.

Thankfully, I was able to retrain one of my feats at level 12, so I have two open slots on my character, and in the next 3 mods, I will be leveling up. So I need to know what I should be taking with this character for feats.

The items I have down. I've crafted everything for my character to be very effective as a cleric in all aspects. Pearls of Power, Periapt of Wisdom +6, Prayer Beads. Before, when I started this build, I wanted to be a battle cleric. That just didn't happen, as I found out quickly that a 3/4 BAB is not something you wade into battle with unless you're powered up. So I switched to a full cleric that casts buff and party spells. Then my Church Inquisitor came along and I was happy. :D It gives me immunities to compulsions, allows me to pierce illusions, and I dispel at +4.

My problem is...I need a role. While I do still like the idea of a battle cleric, I just can't see it with this build...unless someone can see something I don't. Please...someone see something that I don't. I really like this character. :(

It really depends what you want to do with him. Do you want to melee, offensive cast, or heal?

That's...kind of what I'm asking. ^.^;; I don't know what to do with him right now. I'm just saying, given what I have right there at the top, what would be the best way to take him and what would I need to do to him?

If I were you, I would get the following feats: Power Attack, Quicken Spell, Chain Spell.

At 13th, it's worth a 7th level slot to cast a Chained Greater Magic Weapon on 13 weapons for the entire party. A Chained targetted dispel magic is also pretty uber especially with your bonus to dispel checks.

With a single round of buffs (quickend Divine Favor, Divine Power) you're pretty much the equal of an iconic fighter. With power attack, you'll be able to do fairly good damage.

Why stick to only one role when you can do it all? Depending on party composition, you can easily take on the role of tank, blaster, buffer or whatever.

For most parties though, you'll want to buff long term spells on the party before combat (greater magic weapon, magic vestment, heroes feast). Then during combat, open up with a single buff (recitation or righteous wrath if no bard). Then you can cast the power up suite (divine power/quickend divine favor) and wade into melee, cast spells at the bad guys or support your party.

Healing is usually done after combat unless you have an especially fragile melee guy. Then a Heal can usually fix them up.

If you want to be more casting/buffing oriented, then Divine Ward and Augment Healing are both good feats to pick up.

That chained dispel is fantastic. At your level, you'll be able to look at a guy, and dispel his armor, his weapon, his other weapon, his cloak, his ring, and his socks.

You just dispelled the enemies socks of anti-stench? Get out of our party. :(

I have a cleric of St. Cuthbert that hit the same kind of dilemma -- you either have to commit to being a fighty cleric (18str) or be something else.

With that in mind, why not be a buffer/debuffer? Toss those Dispels with authority (worth having an extra karma bead just for the Greater Dispels).

Chain Spell and Quicken Spell really help here (chain GMW that you crank with Karma bead (and orange ioun stone if you get access, Quicken Recitation at 15, etc). Don't have my books handy, but Courage domain has that funny Fury spell that is probably nice to cast on the fighter (maybe even worth Domain Spontaneity).
