I'm thinking about creating a Halfling Divine Prankster and am looking for some advice over what the lead-in should be.
First level will either be Rogue (traps n such) or Bard (Inspire Courage becomes +2 eventually).
After that I can either fit Druid 4 (druid spells, all levels of DP) or Cleric 5 (cleric spells, trickery domain plus one other).

So the possible builds are
Rog1/Drd4/DP10
Brd1/Drd4/DP10
Rog1/Clr5/DP9
Brd1/Clr5/DP9

Anyone want to suggest which is better?

My preferences att he moment are leaning towards the druid as it gives all the levels of DP, but I don't know if the loss of domains / alternate spell list is worth it.

Read the deities document again, I don't think you can be a druid. I'm almost certain you have to be a cleric of those gods.

In Living Greyhawk, Divine Pranksters of deities other than Garl Glittergold exist. ... and halfling worshippers of Brandobaris are considered to have met the Race and Special Requirements for this prestige class

My reading is that providing the character worships Brandobaris (has as their deity), they qualify for the relevant parts of the class. Apart from skills, it merely requires divine spellcasting, not any specific type?

Mommy was an Orc suggested a 4 Cleric/1 Rogue combo to get to DP in another post. It requires 14 INT as a human, but looks like a good full purpose skill monkey/divine caster all wraped in one. I was thinking of using it in the new greyhawk ruins campaign arc, but decided to go arcane caster instead due to already having a rogue and cleric in the party.
For halfling I think you could do well with any of those listed, but I would stick to rogue over bard

I read that thread, but this character has to be Halfling which means the skills are too tight for Cleric 4. I think you're right about Rogue first though.

But Cleric 5 vs Druid 4. How much do I want to make people laugh themselves to death? :)

IMO, the big advantage of the divine prankster is 6 skill points per level. I don't think two extra skill points as a druid is worth the sacrifices to get in the class. If I wasn't going for cleric, I wouldn't go divine prankster.

Don't some of the divine prankster abilities work off of turn attempts?

Druid's don't get any. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

The only Divine Prankster ability to work off of turn attempts is one that boosts the DC of your Illusion (figment) spells. Not something you really need to worry about.

This is a bit off topic but what about a Gnome bard 2/cleric 3 (garl glittergold)?

Not entirely.

Str 6, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 16, Wis 15, Cha 8

Bard's a lousy lead-in for Divine Prankster - you have to lose 2 caster levels to get Bard to Bard 2 for Inspirational Boost - and if you're not getting that, then what's the point of advancing Bard Inspire Courage?

Not losing the 2nd caster level is what makes Divine Prankster extremely effective at around 8th level and thereafter.

If you get one level of Bard your Inspire Courage has the power of a Bard of level (1 + Divine Prankster level), so you eventually get a +2 Inspire Courage with only one caster level loss. You don't get trap detection and sneak though.

In other words, you get +2 Inspire Courage at 12th level, something you would have had at 3rd level with 2 Bard levels. Giving up trapfinding for that is not a good exchange.

I'm a few levels into my divine prankster. The eventual build will be:

Bard 1/favored soul 4/Marshal 1/Divine Prankster 10

The enrage enemy ability will be pretty impressive at higher levels (even without the now NPC-only divine insight). At this point, though, he's mostly a support/face character (the marshal boost is to CHA). I do have fun role-playing him, though.

The divine prankster has tough skill requirements if you're not taking two levels of bard. The marshal has two of the three required skills as class skills. If you take cleric, you could get the trickery domain and get bluff as a class skill. Otherwise, the skill cost is certainly one to work on.

If you're halfling has a 16 Int, you should be fine either way.
