Ok, so I've been defied...But you trade 2HD on your mount my swapping that last beastmaster level. Cavalier only stacks for Special Mounts, not animal companions....

This is true, but with the lvl of Halfling Outrider, you can count it as a paladin mount and a druid companion. (not sure how much that adds though)

Also, you only asked to make it more mutted, not more mutted and effective :P

Oh, and it's not a legal build...Track is a pre-req for Wild Plains Outrider....And while Halfling Outrider stacks for both Animal Companion and Special Mount, it doesn't make one into the other, and so Cavalier still doesn't stack with the rest for your mount...

I've already fixed it. I think I could also squeeze a level of Pious Templar in somewhere as well :D

Added one level of Pious Templar :D

Ok...beat me by one class...12 to my 11...Mutt master supreme...Now for the real challenge, can you do it and make it more effective too?

I actually need to look at my books to find out exactly what each effective level of animal companionship comes out to.

I'm only counting 9 different classes in your original build.

1. Knight
2. Fighter
3. Druid
4. Beastmaster
5. Wild Plains Outrider
6. Cleric
7. Marshal.
8. Barbarian
9. Hospitaler

Did I miss any?

Hey, you already have track, you might be able to squeeze a level of dark hunter in there by swapping weapon focus (shortsword) for blind fight, and then dropping lance for shortsword focus at the hospitaler level....

Ok, this build uses 15 different classes, ends up with a +12 BAB, but doesn't lose one at all until 8th level.

Race human.
Stats a bunch of scores that are all 12 and 14, with maybe a 15 or 16 str.

1. Ranger. Mounted Combat, Ride by attack
2. Barbarian
3. Fighter. Spirited Charge, Power Attack.
4. Hexblade
5 Swashbuckler
6. Knight, Skill Focus Handle Animal
7. Beastmaster
8. Marshall
9. Animal Lord (Wolflord or catlord). Blind Fight
10. Bloodhound
11. Wild Plains Outrider.
12. Rogue, Endurance
13. Highland Stalker.
14. Dark Hunter
15. Exemplar. - Weapon Focus Lance!!!

15-HorizonWalker/

Deep Halfling
13/10/14/10/12/14 (all bumps to str)
BAB +13 (drops only to druid and marshal, at levels 4 and 9 respectively)

Feats:
1)Mounted Combat
2)Ride By Attack
3)Spirited Charge
3)Weapon Finesse
6)Track
6)Skill Focus (handle animal)
7)Power Attack
9)Mounted Archery
9)Skill Focus (diplomacy)
12)Endurance
15)Natural Bond

Self critiques:
* Alignment shift from true neutral to lawful neutral early on (pre-druid).
* The skills requirements are fairly easy to accomplish, didn't bother detailing the process on those.
* Endurance and the last few prestige classes were chosen mostly due to my laziness.
* I could have plugged in a pious templar and removed the druid level in order to net one more BAB, but I like boosting the animal companion.
* Natural Bond isn't open, but it is so easy to get access to that I consider it a non-issue by level 15.

Nice notes:
* It's a halfling, the master race.
* consistent ability to spirited charge makes any build workable
* Ends up with equivalent druid level 11 (1 druid, 1 animal lord, 1 halfling outirder, 1 wild plains outrider, 4 beast master, 3 natural bond) for the animal companion/mount
* 15 classes

I think the build is trying to hard too be complex for the sake of complexity, without necessarily examining why it is being complex. Look at the following build based off of yours:

Lv1(Ranger) Track, Skill Focus (Handle Animal)
Lv2(Knight)
Lv3(Knight ) Mounted Combat,Ride-by Attack
Lv4(Cleric) +1 STR
Lv5(Fighter) Spirited Charge
Lv6(Beastmaster)Power Attack
Lv7(Wild Plains Outrider)
Lv8(Wild Plains Outrider)+1 STR
Lv9(Marhsal)Divine Might, Skill Focus (Diplomacy)
Lv10(Marhsal)
Lv11(Barbarian)
Lv12(Fighter)Extra Rage, Weapon Focus (Lance), +1 STR
Lv13(Wild Plains Outrider)
Lv14(Wolf Lord)
Lv15(Beastmaster)Natural Bond (If you get access), Alertness

Same feats, one less BAB lost, lose Druid spells you weren't planning to cast anyway, lose 2 hp, gain 12 skill points. Exact same animal companion progression except for level 5. If the losing of 2 hp is a big deal, just move Ranger to 5th and Knight 2/Cleric 1/Fighter 1 up 1.

And mind you, I'm not sure what the huge benefit of this build is over something simpler.

Depends on what you mean by "simpler". The idea was to collect as much of the typical mounted combat stuff as possible while also having a tough mount. Your version is an overall improvement, is just a bit slower in becoming calvalry over the first few levels, but at that point it's just as easy to be a normal melee combatant. So good call there. Animal Lord is easy to overlook...

I think there's a tendency to ignore just what a Paladin 15 or nearly pure Fighter 2/Paladin 12/Hospitaler 1 does. It gains spells, mount, and a really nasty smite. The 2nd build is a bit weaker on those three things, but it adds in 3 feats, something a pure Paladin needs pretty badly to be good at Divine Might, Smiting, and a Mount.

Couple problems with this build. You can't leave the paladin class for cleric then return to paladin. This is easily fixed by getting rid of the cleric level, since it brings little to nothing useful to the build. A very good swap for the cleric level (say before the paladin levels begin) would be 1 level of Marshal for the "Over the top" aura, which adds cha modifier to damage on charges.

Second problem is probably an oversight. No level 1 feat is chosen; however, you still need to take the Skill Focus(Handle Animal) to qualify for beastmaster so I presume that's what was supposed to go there.

Level 6 and 9 feats should probably go towards ImpBullRush+ShockTrooper, however Divine Might and Natural Bond would make acceptable substitutes.
