As in, could start with Duskblade? Or knew in advance that I could do one or more levels in whatever I want, and then take Duskblade levels? Or knew that I already had one level of a certain class, and had access to Duskblade?

If it's the former, Duskblade 15. If the second, maybe something with Int synergy–like Swash3/Duskblade12–or just Fighter4/Duskblade11. If the third, well, that depends what you're stuck with as your first level and what stats you've got and what your race is.

It never hurts to ask for a special mission for it. But I am not sure of what the odds are of getting it. Wasn't it passed out in a core special ? I am not sure how they are about giving out options that were given in a limited play mod.

But keep us informed on how it goes with your Triad.

If you are in Keoland, don't bother. The Keoland Special Missions POC just e-mailed me and said:

"We've conferred, now that we have a new Triad member and all. It's no go on Duskblade. Being a base class, it will need to be offered by the Circle in an LGCS rather than via special missions.

Cheers,

Andrew Lotz
Keoland Special Missions Coordinator"

I can't say I like the decision, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

BUT, other Triads might be a little more open with access. So I would recommend taking a Full BAB class for the first level.

Swashbuckler and Fighter are the best bets. And honestly, I recommend Power Attack. Just because being able to strike with a +25 attack bonus for 1d10+15+5d6 at level 5 might just save the party, regardless of the cries of "CHEESE" and "BROKEN" it generates. (16 STR, +1 magic weapon, quick casting true strike, channeling shocking grasp, power attacking for full.)

That being said, have 2 plans for this character. One for IF you get access to Duskblade, and one for if you DON'T.

I have a swashbuckler that was planned for that denied special mission. He's now most likely going to be Rogue4/Cleric1/Swashbuckler10. (Not in that order.) And yes, daring outlaw will be a feat.
