Passif bonus fighter [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-06-07, 02:43 PM I was throwing idea around with a friend about a passif bonus fighter and after mutch brainstorming this is how it turned out.

ELF
STR : 15 DEX : 16 CON: 12 INT : 14 WIS : 8 CHA :8

1 swashbuckler 1 : exotic weapon elven courtblade, weapon finesse
2 fighter1 : dodge
3 swashbuckler2 : grace+1, power attack
4 fighters2 : combat expertise,+1 STR
5 swashbuckler3 : insightful strike
6 fighter3 : weapon focus courtblade
7 fighter4 : mounted combat
8 CoCL1 : corellon’s blessing, improved disarm +1 DEX
9 CoCL2 : elegant strike, improved critical courtblade
10 fighter5 : -20%xp
11 fighter6 : weapon specialization courtblade
12 fighter7 : daring warrior, dodge+2, +1 DEX
13 fighter8 : Greater weapon focus courtblade, grace +2
14 fighter9
15 fighter10 : Greater weapon specialization courtblade, power critical

the major drawback is the below average Hp for a melee fighter but i think the increase damage potential is worth it. You just have to take out your opponent as quickly as possible before your Hp drops to low.

I think the build is trying to be strength AND dex based at the same time. not sure if it will work.

You should put in melee weapon mastery in there somewhere too.

Maybe some Wildrunner somehow. Not a big fan of CoCL

06-06-07, 07:11 PM Take Improved weapon familiarity at first level instead of the exotic weapon proficinecy. That lets you treat all Elven weapons as martial weapons instead of exotic weapons (its in complete warrior)

Taking improved weapon familliarity just replace one feat with another and strangely does not allow me to become a CoCL because its needs either Wfocus longsword or exotic weapon profiency (thinblade or courtblade). Dumb ? yes

Also Metz your right melee weapon mastery is better than GW focus and has the same prerequisites. Stupid PH2 ! so I just replace GWF with MWM and than power critical with GWF but im not sure if i can get both GWF and GWSpec at the same level ?

also i dont think wood elf is a good idea since it drop my INT witch I will be adding to my damage and doesnt raise my DEX that I need for my to hit and my AC! and I have looked at wildrunner and its nice and all but adding my DEX to damage is better in my opinion.

06-07-07, 02:13 AM I tried quite hard to make a Swashbuckler Champion of Corellon Larethian. The upshot was that it just isn't as effective as the Wood Elf version without any Swashbuckler.

If you do go for it though you really have to use TWF to get that static damage as amany times as possible each round.
