| Gaelforcwynd11-28-06, 01:12 PM | I have a few of questions regarding Prestige Classes in Living Greyhawk. My character is a Cleric from the Perrenland region. Firstly, where there are some situational requirements, such as discovering corruption in your church for access to become a Church Inquisitor, or being inducted into the Seekers of the Misty Isle order by another member, how does a character go about fulfilling these criteria in a LG campaign? Secondly, once you take an allowable Prestige Class, can you choose to lvl up one of your other old Classes separately rather than take another lvl in the Prestige Class? Thirdly, can a character be of two Prestige Classes at once? Finally, if you can only have a single Prestige Class, can you drop your current one and take up another? |
| Britt11-28-06, 01:13 PM | 1. You need campaign documentation in the form of an AR entry (not play notes filled out by the DM), a metaorg benefit, or special mission. 2. Yes. 3. Yes. 4. N/A |

It's pretty straight-forward, just read through them. You'll also find a list of prestige classes that are core access. For those, you don't need campaign documentation. If it's not specifically stated as core, then its like Britt described. |

| retro11-28-06, 08:20 PM | I'll attempt to answer these one at a time: I have a few of questions regarding Prestige Classes in Living Greyhawk. See Britt's answer, above. Secondly, once you take an allowable Prestige Class, can you choose to lvl up one of your other old Classes separately rather than take another lvl in the Prestige Class? Yes, you can. When your character gains a level, he may take a level in any base class allowed in LG, or in any prestige class that he qualifies for and has access to. Thirdly, can a character be of two Prestige Classes at once? Again, yes. Gaining the prerequisites for two prestige classes may be difficultand time-consuming, though. |
| Arvagor11-28-06, 08:28 PM | For example, thief-acrobat requires you to join your local thieves' guild. It's pretty straight-forward, just read through them.Like the one you just mentioned? ;) (Thief-Acrobat no longer has an MO requirement; Temple Raider, OTOH, does...) |
| ShinAkuma211-28-06, 09:50 PM | Again, yes. Gaining the prerequisites for two prestige classes may be difficultand time-consuming, though. As the player of a character heading into 3 different prestige classes (Master Thrower, Thief-Acrobat, Whisperknife), I can attest to this. Be prepared to do a lot of planning ahead. |
| DuctShuiTengu11-29-06, 12:14 AM | 1. You need campaign documentation in the form of an AR entry (not play notes filled out by the DM), a metaorg benefit, or special mission. Much as I probably shouldn't correct a Circle member... Several of the PrCs with special requirements (Reaping Mauler, SpellSword, Hunter of the Dead, Scorpion Herito) say that said requirement being met (or at least worked toward) should be written in the play notes section of the AR by the DM. Also, the Seeker of the Misty Isle specificly says that another PC Seeker at the table may issue the invite (though it must be done at the table and signed off by the DM). |
| Britt11-29-06, 12:26 AM | Yes, sorry, I was too broad with my statement. I was trying to address the questions I always get about friendly contact with an outsider, contemplative, and the like, and I forgot about the exceptions :) |
| _m_12-06-06, 10:14 PM | some prc's have stackable requirements though. i personally am taking 3 prc's that have virtually identical pre-req's. |
| Gaelforcwynd12-08-06, 03:39 AM | Yes I was looking through Complete Divine to see which PC's had overlapping requirements. That's why I was looking at Church Inquisitor, Contemplative, Seeker of the Misty Isle etc. |
