I did a Radiant Servant build for a friend a while back, so I've decided to do one for myself. I don't want to copy him however, so I chose the goddess Lydia for my patron.

Race: Human

STR:8
CON:14
DEX:10
INT:10
WIS:16
CHA:15

Domains: Travel and Sun

1: Cleric Feats: Augment Healing, Improved Init. (Retrain: Extra Turning)
2: Cleric
3: Cleric Feat: CWI
4: Cleric Boost: CHA
5: Cleric
6: Cleric Feat: CAA Retrain: Improved Init. to Extra Turning
7: Radiant Servant
8: Radiant Servant Stat: WIS
9: Radiant Servant Feat: Domain Spont. (Travel)
10: Radiant Servant
11: Radiant Servant Bonus Domain: Glory
12: Radiant Servant Feat: Leadership Stat: WIS
13: Radiant Servant
14: Radiant Servant
15: Radiant Servant Feat: Quicken Spell

Obviously, this character really has no buisness trying to hit something, at least not without magical help, but the discounts on armor and shield enhancements are nice, and weapons can always be loaned out. And I know Lydia doesn't have the Glory domain, but the text says "or he can choose the Glory or Purification domain." Any table variation on that I should know about?

Check out page 3 of the LGCS Deities Document 2.0 (March 2005):

If a class or prestige class grants access to a specific domain...it does not need to appear on the deity's list of domain's granted.

So there should be no table variation on a RSoL getting the Glory or Purification domain, since they are specifically granted.

I have a RSoE(hlonna), who is going to take the Glory from RSoE, and then take one level of contemplative to get Purification (which is granted by Ehlonna).

way to many points in charisma for my taste, what do you need a 16 charisma for??? for leadership a charisma of 14 with a cloak - you craft it yourself - is all you need. the bonus on turning checks isn't so useful, as the problem for a turning machine isn't to get a result that will turn/destroy your level +4 HD of undead, but to get your effective level up, as undead pop up with effectively 14 HD at APL 6!!!!!!

give your poor cleric at least a 10 or even a 12 in strength (drop wisdom to 15 and charisma to 14 frees enough points for this), that makes at least a support for the frontliners, and you have the HPs and later the crafted armor to stand close to the front.

all the turnings you might need will be from charisma 14 and extra turning, at least you will hardly run out, if your only turn attempts burning feat is domain spontaneity ;).

i wouldn't go for convenient "retraining", your character might need a year or more to reach the point where you planned the retraining. rules may change . . . . . .

i admit that the "extra turning" is much less useful than "improved initiative" at the start but you will be on the save side.

IMO, the Radiant servant is working much better with Healing as domain. I feel that you are missing the best part about it (Empowered/Maximize healing). I know Lydia doesnt have it but well.

Also i dont think CAA is a good feat for you. Yes you might get a good discount on a decent armor piece and shield but these arent that expensive. The weapon part is a total waste as you will rarely get in melee since you are a bit squishier than the normal cleric and that you got no feat to back it up. I think that Sacred Healing (Ph2 version, the only one that is open) is a very good choice. A level 11 cleric with Augment healing and Sacred Healing would do 1d8+29 to his whole group with mass cure light wounds, that is pretty damn good if you ask me.

Combat Casting/shielded Casting (RS) is a very good combo for a priest, letting you cast without provoking AoO no check. Combat casting at level 1 is actually pretty damn good too.

This is my underpowered Radiant Servant of Lydia build:

Suel
STR 8
DEX 8
CON 8
INT 10
WIS 18
CHA 16

All bumps to WIS.

Feats: 1 - Extra Turning, Quicken Spell (free retrain to Sacred Healing); 3 - DMM: Quicken (free retrain to Craft Wondrous Item); 6 - Domain Spontaneity (travel); 9 - I dunno; 12 - I dunno; 15 - Right, like that's a concern in the next two years.

Likely candidates for those other feats include:
1 - Divine Ward (excellent choice for anyone thinking about serving as a healer)
2 - Leadership
3 - Divine Vigor
4 - Divine Fortune

Divine feats are tempting for me because I've got CHA to burn after spending so much in order to be able to Quicken spells at 3rd level twice a day. I did that, it was cheezy, the new LGCS punished me, and I deal with it...

Your build has enough CHA that you might want to look at some of the other Divine feats instead of Craft Magic Arms and Armor. Furthermore, I agree that you don't need 15 CHA. I'd recommend buying a 14 and putting those other points into STR or anything else.

In fact, you may wish to consider taking Sacred Healing instead of Augment Healing if you're not going to take the Healing domain. That would be my style -- simply because if I was going to make an all-out healing battery, I'd take every healing option available (including trying to find a way to get Ruathar and Magic of the Land). Sacred Healing makes good use of CHA and turn attempts and lets you save more spells for buffs and/or in-combat use.

Alternately, you might just leave that 6th level feat TBD and see if you get access to a Phylactery of Undead turning by that time. In that case, Improved Turning and other turning feats become more attractive.

At any rate, I expect your PC's a Suel male and orphan who joined the church after finding all the attractive young women singing along the streets of Greyhawk, right? I say this because I thought that was a fairly clever idea when I used it.... until at a convention two years later, another guy gave the same background for HIS Lydian. Except his story had more dirty parts. Ewww....

Oh well, someone's got to take care of all those young, impressionable male orphans; it might as well be the church of Lydia.

Naw, she's female, sweet and really childish, with a hint of a temper. (Which she would bring to bear on forementioned perverted cleric.)

I guess I can drop the charisma and wisdom down a couple notches, but I'd like to keep craft arms and armor. (As this is the only character I have that could EVER use it). However, adding Sacred Healing to my feats list is a good idea too, as it will stack with Augment and give me something else to dump turn attempts into, so I will drop CAA anyway. (Armor enchantments are cheaper and I have no business dropping even 9k into a weapon I will hardly ever use).

Here's the new build:

Human

STR:10
CON:14
DEX:12
INT:10
WIS:15
CHA:14

Feats:

Sacred Healing, Extra Turning (Level 1)
Augment Healing (Level 3)
Craft Wonderous Item (Level 6)
Domain Spontaneity Travel (Level 9)
Leadership (Level 12)
Quicken Spell (Level 15)
