We can direct advice to patch up particular problems, but you've got to say so. In general, this looks like a melee rogue build, TWF plus spring attack. Nothing wrong with that. Also, the build looks strong as well, no real problems there. From experience, cause I have a 14th level version of this character, you are going to see a few problems come up repeatedly. I'll mention them in what I consider to be priority order. 1) I'm 7th level, and my will save is +1. This is a challenge, and you'll always be vulnerable here. However, I recommend buying a few potions of protection from evil and remove fear. That's a quick fix, you can do that right now. Then, I'd start saving for a vest of resistance. 2) I can do crazy damage in one round, but I can't take it. You've built an offensive character, and that's ok. You've made him more offensive still, by spending on strength, magic weapons, and gloves of dex. What you need now, is better defenses. This includes, foremost, an amulet of health to overcome your low Con score. (The sacred necklace, while good, will become less useful over time. The amulet of health, actually gets better) You'll also need a pile of potions. You're 7th level, you're going to start to be targeted by enemy casters. SO, you'll need a potion of lesser restoration, a potion of cure blindness, and so on. 3) Rounding it out. As far as slots go, you don't have a hat, glasses, bracers, a shirt, a ring, or another ring. If you see something useful that you can plug in here, like eyes of the eagle, I say go for it. Also, grab any items that aid your roguey-ness, like a ring of lockpicking. You'll be expected to fulfill that role, might as well be really good. 4) Future feats You understand one thing very clearly, which is that rogues get skill points for free, but their feat selection defines their fighting style. Good job. In the future, I might go with Improved Buckler defense. You can invest in a highly enchanted buckler and armor, and push your armor class up pretty quickly. This will help offset your lowish Con too. If you ever see Nightstalker, take it immediately. It's invaluable at APLs 10+, where 1/3 of your opponents don't need to see you. With a 20 Dex, combat reflexes might be a good choice. And, there's always Improved Initiative. It's a great choice for a rogue, ESPECIALLY if you're out front scouting a lot. In fact, that's my criteria for judging feats, "Is it better than improved initiative?" While not glamourous, my rogue/ranger/NSenforcer has found Track a very useful choice. |
| DanH03-18-08, 07:37 PM | Nightsong enforcer requires 10 ranks in Hide ans 10 Ranks in Move Silently, so the earilest you can take it is as your 8th level. It also requires the Feat Improved Initiative. Dan |
