Such information can be found in the LGCS...

And I'll be the 20th person to say this: MAKE YOUR SIGNATURE SMALLER...

I think you need access to them. So, keep playing and keep your eyes open. Remember, it has to come out in a book, and THEN someone needs to start writing a mod, send it in, and only then can you play it.

Access from previous books seems to take at least three months, and is more likely found in specials and interactives, since they are usually written less far in advance.

Well then, the answer to your question is likely in the second sentence of the opening paragraph of Appendix 4 (the place with the lists to which you're referring). Page 26 of LGCS 7.5.

Or, to be more direct - no, Skill tricks are not allowed in LG.
Also, if you check the Prestige Class listings in Appendix 4, you'll note that the Uncanny Trickster is not allowed as a prestige class.

skill tricks are definitely unbalancing the whole 3.x D&D system :( .

skill tricks allow feat like stunts for those who have a lot of skills and ranks in them

rogues gets lots of skills, fighters gets lots of feats, and the classes are considered more or less balanced towards each other.

with skill tricks, rogues and basically those classes with lots of skill points and good skill choices will outrun the other classes quite fast.

so without a fundamental change how skill points and skills are allocated to different classes, the skill tricks should be banned.

maybe something for the future D&D 4.x :P

as was i i was under the impression that fighter> rogue in LG after all how many people dont want a BDF thats FTR 14 as opposed to rogue 15 who no one would really like at a table but might cope with it skill tricks wouldnt even CLOSE to make up for it

If the rules don't say you can specifically have something, you can't have it.

And, as such you can't have it. Should it ever become Open for your PC, then you can use it. You can never have something be both NONC and Open when talking about one specific PC.

however if it was closed authors couldnt use it
bitznarf

Nope, Closed only applies to PCs.

really i was under the impression without that little cross symbol let them use spesific closed ones

†= open to authors

Master specialist
Malconvoker
Blighter †
Blood Magus†

Spells
Slime wall †
Chain of smog

and stuff like that ones without † are closed even to authors i believe
bitznarf

07-28-07, 02:41 PM
Nope. There was something of a fuss raised when it was noticed that those † mean nothing. Notice the wording on Cosed: "A PC may not take advantage of any rules item listed as Closed, ever." It says nothing about NPCs. Britt has comfirmed that Open/Closed/NONC means nothing to NPCs, we should simply trust to circle to not allow stupid **** in (to paraphrase).

that why people mad about dominion? :D
bitznarf

07-28-07, 03:29 PM
Nah, dominion was (is) something else entirely.

it had something to do with the CR of a single monster and difficult terrain

but in all seriousness there should be concreat rules that even authors have to use (the APL + 3 tops for COR and maby APL +4 CORS) thats why i was curious if they were even allowed to use that broken stuff

There is the Core Writers Guidelines (which all core writters must adhere to) that everyone can see and download. There are also 'interal documents' that the circle and/or triads use for what authors may and may not do.
