| Ralis08-06-07, 04:15 AM | The idea of this character came from the question, "How do you take advantage of the Scouts Skirmish ability and preform a Full Attack Action?" The answer I came up with is using Dervish Dance. Race: Human 10, 16, 14, 14, 8, 12, 1. Scout, Dodge, Mobility (Skirmish 1d6) 2. Ranger, 3. Ranger, Two weapon fighting style, Weapon Focus Scimitar 4. Fighter, bump Dex, Combat Reflexes 5. Fighter, Spring Attack (Retrain out of at lvl 11) 6. Scout, Combat expertise 7. Dervish, 8, Scout, Bump Dex, (Skirmish 1d6 +1AC) 9. Dervish, Improved Critical (Scimitar) 10.Scout, Bonus Feat, 11. Dervish 12. Scout (Skirmish 2d6 +1AC) Bump Dex, Feat Then take Dervish to retirement. Any Comments or suggestions? |

Any Comments or suggestions? way to low strength and much to high charisma, the dervish features are defendant on your RANKS in "perform (dance)". and your attacks and damage output needs every single point. consider: Race: Human st 15, dx 14, co 14, in 14, wi 8, ch 10, all level bumps to strength have "power attack" just UNTIL before your first dervish level ;) ciao martin m. |

Where is your Weapon Finesse? This character isn't getting anything out of their higher Dexterity modifier besides a little armor class. Their to-hit roll just isn't going to match up. What is it that you're trying to get out of your statistic array? If you want to use Dexterity as your main combat stat, you absolutely have to squeeze Weapon Finesse in somehow. Also, I'd note that Dervish is a very level-hungry PrC. It wants you to go deep into it. You get more +attack and +damage every two levels as well as more Dervish Dances per day, and there are worthwhile class features in addition to the dance. Spring Attack is obsoleted by the Dervish Class, you don't need it. Use Swift Hunter rather than Scout 5 to get your 2nd d6 of Skirmish damage. Once you're in Dervish, stick with it...you're not going to be able to improve on doing what the class is designed to do. I'd recommend a Ranger 2/Scout 4 Swift Hunter build as a base point to start with. You can get Improved Skirmish from there. |
