| Deckofmanythings12-05-06, 12:00 PM | According to the LGCS on page 39, you have to pay the costs in getting a Familiar during character creation in order to start with a familiar... but the Quick Play characters posted on the LG site has a halfling wizard with a familiar that I do not believe is accounted for in their money. Has this rule changed, or is it due to change in 2007? |
| Britt12-05-06, 12:55 PM | You have to pay for a familiar; there are no exceptions to this, AFAIK. If you're going to have one in your first adventure, that means you have to pay for it out of your creation gold. There is no way around this. If the fastplay character did not take this into account, it is wrong. |
| Larthos12-08-06, 05:07 AM | It is an honest mistake that I have made, and one that I am sure other players have made so I can understand one of the fastplays not taking it into account. I realized on one of my characters a couple of years ago when I was going through conversion that I had never paid for my familier. I corrected the problem during conversion, but I had still played through seven levels with the problem. |
