| TWG_Prometheus08-01-07, 07:33 PM | I was looking over Rogue PrCs for a friend today when I came across Streetfighter (again) and realized for the first time that it had the duo of Disable Device and Search as class skills. I was already considering a Half-Orc Rogue/Barbarian build as a novelty/side character, and the thoughts all synergized well. Obviously this guy won't be as powerful in a raw sense as an Unseen Seer, but he'd have a few cool tricks at any rate... Half-Orc Str 16, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 12, Wis 12, Cha 6 Rogue 1 - Improved Initiative Barbarian 1 Rogue 2 - Extra Rage Fighter 1 - Combat Expertise (Bump Int) Fighter 2 - Improved Feint Rogue 3 - ?? Streetfighter 1 Streetfighter 2 Streetfighter 3 - Great Fortitude Streetfighter 4 (Rogue 4/Fighter 1/Barbarian 1 into Streetfighter would also work.) With the Half-Orc strength modifier and Barbarian Rage + martial weapon proficiencies, you wouldn't be overly dependent on Sneak Attack to deal damage. Streetfighter would give you Stand Tough, and the Fighter/Barbarian stacking plus Great Fortitude would give you a solid Fortitude save to prevent damage to yourself. Disable Device and Search can stay max throughout most of the build, with short defiiciencies during the Fighter and Barbarian bumps. As a bonus, it would be easy to shift the build over into Nightsong Enforcer if I ever got access. For reference, the build I was considering earlier was a lot more simple: Rogue 1/Barbarian 1/Rogue X That build would get Opportunist at 11th level, but I think the Streetfighter build may be a lot more interesting. |

I'd also look at taking something different at 9th. Great Fortitude never struck me as that great a feat, even for a build like this. |

But it's feat-intensive enough that you'd want to do it with a Human, not a Half-Orc. Some combination of Rogue 2, Fighter 4, Swash 3, Scarlet Corsair 3, Streetfighter 3? |

Half-Orc Str 16, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 12, Wis 12, Cha 6 Rogue 1 - Improved Initiative Barbarian 1 Rogue 2 - Extra Rage Fighter 1 - Power Attack (Bump Int) Fighter 2 - Combat Expertise Rogue 3 - Improved Feint Streetfighter 1 Streetfighter 2 - (Bump Str) Streetfighter 3 - Staggering Strike Streetfighter 4 I don't have my books with me, so I could be missing some prereq for Staggering Strike. That build otherwise makes sense to me. The build isn't so feat intensive that I feel like going to human would help all that much, and he's still trying to be a Rogue more than anything...at least enough to do the critical Search/Disable Device/Open Lock services for his party. With this setup, he's only losing one BAB until at least 10th or 11th level and keeps his skill development as intact as anyone will expect from a Half-Orc. Going forward, Streetfighter 5 doesn't offer anything truly spiffy, so I'd probably dump out into another Prestige class or continue with Fighter/Rogue level tradeoffs. He could still get Melee Weapon Mastery by 12th if that's what I decided to do. (Trading off some other feat in the build for Weapon Focus---probably Extra Rage) Ideally by that time I'd have Nightsong Enforcer access, but.... |
