Anyone know what the build is for LG for the arcane caster level boosted bard?

Bard X/Wildmage/Sublime Cord? Or is there something else in there?

Maybe be a Gnome and Shadowcraft Mage? Most of the PrCs seem like just tiny little dips.

I need to start a new character and I'm totally in the air with what to make. It'll either be a bard or a druid, but I want to have a good solid build for it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not aware of any particular LG bard-sublime chord build.

There are dozens of ways to skin that cat, and many many of them are quite functional and serve different roles.

Since you just need 3rd level spells and 10th level skills before becoming a sublime chord the only really important thing is that the bard be playable from 1-10, and it takes sublime chord at 11th and 12th levels, then maintains +1 caster level classes to advance the sublime chord progression.

I'm personally playing a Bard who will some day be
8 Bard/2 Paladin/4 SubChord/1 Spellsword- As of 4 Bard/2 Pal, he has been quite enjoyable and playable.

At one point I was planning on a 7 Bard/1 Barbarian/2 Wildrunner/2 SubChord... possibly with some Mage of the Arcane Order levels in there (scrapped for the paladin however).

You can really do all sorts of stuff with sublime chord and have an effective character. Just make sure you have something that you focus on to be good at for levels 1-10.

There's my build, Bard 9/Marshal 1(Motivate Charisma)/Sublime Chord 5 - makes you automake the +30 Perform check for song of arcane power.

But a lot of that stuff doesn't hit until 12th level. The important thing with a Bard is know they're boring in combat. Inspire Courage on the 1st round of combat until your ears start to bleed...

There are a couple things to look into, and Sublime Chord's probably the best choice for an "arcane" bard. Personally, though, I'd wait for the next LGCS round and see what becomes available there. Levels of Lyric Thaumaturge (as well as some of the feats) would be fantastic for a spellcasting bard, as you wouldn't have to wait until level 11 to start casting Sor/Wiz spells.

Lyric Thurmagist? What might that be out of? Complete Mage?

Hmmmm, well if we're waiting on the LGCS may as well pray for Duskblade.

Gah, hitting a +30 perform check, yikes and awesomeness!

I've been kicking around Bard5/Marshal1/LyricThaumaturge5/SubChord2/something3 myself.

And hitting DC 30 Performs? Easy as pie.

Yeah, Lyric Thaumaturge is out of Complete Mage. So we have to wait until either 1) access on an AR or 2) LGCS Y597/Y598
