It ends it's career at BAB 12 and with base saves of 14/6/7. I could choose the Strength domain in place of Luck for the ability to cast Enlarge Person on myself. If I did, I would have replace Third Time's the Charm with something else. After 12th, whenever this character rolls a one on its attack, it can make it an auto-crit. It does this via Better Lucky than Good and Bless Weapon. |

| Mommy was an Orc04-19-07, 11:52 AM | I'd make several changes...there's a couple of problems with the build. You lose 4 BAB, not 3. That's going to hurt a lot. Pious Templar isn't really that essential to the build - while you do get Bless Weapon from it, it means delaying Outcast Champion 2 until 14th - something that gives you effectively 2+ smites per day. Fortune's Friend 5 isn't that valuable - you lose a point of BAB and you don't really gain that much in return. Outcast Champion 3 isn't *that* valuable with the ability to progress Divine Crusader. I'd streamline the build to be: Barbarian 1/Fighter 4/Outcast Champion 2/Divine Crusader 4/Fortune's Friend 4 - that gets you 5th level spells with a Cloak of Charisma. Competition gives you access to Divine Power and Righteous Might. Not to mention Zeal, a useful Swift action for someone wanting to get to the opposing spellcaster through enemy lines or when you need to charge an opponent - Divine Power/Righteous Might is very nice to be able to cast with your BAB hit - cast that and Zeal, then start moving in... I'd also put Extra Rage as your 1st level feat - that's just so valuable there. Unbelievable Luck is a good replacement feat either not having the Luck Domain or not having the True Believer feat - +2 to your worst save and 2 luck rerolls to power Victor's Luck... |
| LachlarlanIII04-19-07, 12:45 PM | Those are some good suggestions MwaO. I don't think Divine Power is going to help all that much though. By the time I can cast it I should have a +6 Belt. Righteous Might is an awesome spell, I'd forgotten it was on the Competition domain. |
| boogahwoof04-19-07, 12:49 PM | Only thing i have to add is, are you taking divine crusader just for the luck domain? If so go with a straight cleric level, worship Kord, he uses a greatsword and str, and luck are in his domains to choose from. |

I took Divine Crusader because I didn't want a Cleric's BAB for the most part. I also don't like playing Clerics, so that has something to do with it too. :) |

Righteous Might is an awesome spell, I'd forgotten it was on the Competition domain. If you have a +4 Cloak of Charisma(remember, you get 4 revenge attacks at +4 to hit/+2d6 damage, so this is worthwhile in any case), you can get 4th level spells at 12th level. Don't forget, it raises your BAB to full and gives you CL temp hit points. At 12th, that means +2 to hit and an extra iterative attack. That's worth a bit, at least until you get Righteous Might as a spell option. |

Problem is I hit the xp/gp penalty if I take Cleric. I would have to shuffle everything to make it work without the xp/gp penalty. Plus I would have to drop Int and probably Dex to get a high enough ability to cast the good spells. Not to mention that I'd be casting 3rd level spells max instead of 5th level. |

I'm saying from the context that if you choose not to cast 5th level spells - you just take Cleric 1, advance it twice with Fortune's Friend, and you'll be doing okay. You don't have to change your current stats to do that. |

This build can around 5d6+23 damage before power attack, and has around a +30 to hit with its primary attack. Base saves remain mostly unchanged. |
| Alpha_Nerd04-19-07, 05:17 PM | Do look though that Righteous Might has been errata'd. All of the buffs have been halfed, so I think it's 4 STR 2 CON 2 Nat Armor. |

This build can around 5d6+28 damage before power attack, and has around a +30 to hit with its primary attack. Looks very strong. Righteous Might got errata'd, though: Righteous Might Player’s Handbook, page 273 Changes to the spell’s description are noted in boldface type: This spell causes you to grow, doubling your height and multiplying your weight by 8. This increase changes your size category to the next larger one, and you gain a +4 size bonus to Strength and a +2 size bonus to Constitution. You gain a +2 enhancement bonus to your natural armor. You gain damage reduction 3/evil (if you normally channel positive energy) or damage reduction 3/good (if you normally channel negative energy). At 12th level this damage reduction becomes 6/evil or 6/good, and at 15th level it becomes 9/evil or 9/good (the maximum). Scrying Player's Handbook, page 274 |
| LachlarlanIII04-19-07, 05:19 PM | Still much better than your basic 1-round casting of Enlarge Person :) And because it's the only 5th level spell I'll be able to cast, I don't think it's too bad. |
| Boric04-20-07, 08:34 AM | None of your 1st six levels have diplomacy as a class skill. Therefore you'll be short on diplomacy ranks when you get to level 7 (8 ranks diplomacy is the only requirement for Outcast Champion)... Pick something that has diplomacy in the 1st 5 and you'll do it... | Boric04-20-07, 09:48 AM | My apologies. I was thinking my build.... Thats what I get for using my memory instead of looking it up. Enjoy. |
