However, there are some pretty serious obstacles that one faces when designing such a character: 1. It's difficult to use a nice magic weapon when you're throwing it 2. DR becomes a major issue Any ideas on how to overcome these obstacles - either by character design or otherwise? |

If they've got DR you can easily Bypass Toss a couple spears at em, but if it's something like Adamantine just get in their face and poke em really hard. Also, it lets you have one primary weapon and a bunch of trash weapons for throwing. |

And, while it's not exactly a thower-build, most throwers will also be good archers. A holy longbow is a nice reserve weapon. Likewise, they will also be ok in melee, with a good BAB and good hit points. Grab a stick and swing, if you have to. |

(Power Throw on attacks that don't get strength bonus to damage is sickeningly cheeky and may not work for all that it's perfectly legal -unfortunately) If you can get a cohort capable of Chaining GMW then you're pretty well fixed. If you use Shuriken you can benefit from Flame Arrow (and needn't Chain the GMW). A Thrower really needs to be throwing a lot of weapons though and you would bankrupt yourself trying to get that many magic weapons. |
