rockondon 03-28-07, 03:07 AM	...and I'm havin a problem. I want to take 3 or 4 levels of a knight (mainly just want that bulwark defense thing) then some other mutt fighter type levels I wanna utilize the bulwark of defense with a reach weapon, as well as using a shield (benefiting from the knight shield bonus). Is there any feasible way to do this? (other than having someone cast something on you, potions, etc).
cycloptic_squirrel 03-28-07, 03:31 AM	Without a build to show, just take improved buckler defense and any reach weapon you like. It's -1 on all your attacks, but you retain your shield bonus. Beyond that... animated shield is about all I have for you. Though save all your cash and pray for access is not a style I typically like to play.

What kind of shield calls do you use for such a hunt? Have you had any particular success with deviating from the standard gauge ammo? Wait a minute! Open season on shields isn't for another 4 months! The DAR (Department of Armory Resources) is gonna catch you in the act one of these days. And believe me, the fine is not pretty.

Since then I think the thread of stupidity has kept my more 'colorful' side in check pretty well. :P You should come visit more often!

I'm not sure on the sheild bonus though. I thought the passage pretty heavily implied a sheild, not just a bonus. I was going to suggest a wizard level and the sheild spell, but then didn't think it'd work. Still, just get improved buckler defense. Same thing and you can magic up the buckler! :)
