| echoota11-13-06, 12:32 PM | I have a cert which gives me two free core spells to be put into my spellbook. I'm only first level with these spells: Burning Hands Color Spray Enlarge Person Grease Mage Armor Magic Missile Magic Weapon Sleep However I have no problem just using the favor to get higher level spells and wait for them to unlock for me. Afterall those spells will be more expensive to pay for beyond my two free per spell level. So, with all of this freedom before me and I'm willing to invest in future returns (say mid level, I'm not going to wait to high level for these to unlock) what do people suggest I get? |
| UMiskatonic11-13-06, 01:29 PM | I'd wait until level 3, and then take some of the following: (keep in mind, you'll get two for free anyway) lesser orb of whatever you like scorching ray false life web glitterdust |

But you don't want to just sit on the favors. You have lots of L1 spells, but right when you level you'll have very few L2 options. This would double your choices. |

IF you happen to play with different wizards in the near future, i wouldn't take one of these. they are standard, every wiz with some sane mind left has at least 3 out of the 5. look up the seldom used core spells from SpC or other sources that fit your character. ciao martin m. |
| _m_11-22-06, 10:48 PM | alternatively, wait till you get like, 4th or 5th level spells, then use the favour. save a huge pile of cash, and get access to mad spells you couldn't otherwise get. |
| solbergb11-26-06, 10:30 AM | By then you'll have other favors, and it won't seem like much money.... I'm a fan of using favors soon after you get them, at least when they're for inexpensive things. That access favor on my AR isn't saving my life now. The spell I might have taken instead of saving it for later will be useful right now. LG is about the journey. A spell you obtain at level 3 is going to be useful a lot longer than a spell you obtain at level 9. (that's like a year and a half of steady play, possibly half you entire career). |

| clannagh11-27-06, 01:22 AM | Are you saying you have access to any two LIMITED spells ?? If so that is pretty amazing access. The easiest thing to do i sgo to this link http://members.aol.com/kenjenks/lg/ Where Ken Jenks has kindly provided links to two documents: - one listing by class all Core spells normally available in LG including unusual ones from places liek Spell Compendium - a second document listing limited spells .. these are not actually banned as such but you cannot take them without very specific AR access mentioning the specific spells Edit .. Ok I reread that and notice you said you have CORE access so download teh first document it lists all core spells, both the players handbook variety and also teh unusual ones from other books that are approved |
| Britt11-27-06, 01:25 AM | If it's limited, that probably needs to be erratad. I know a recent IUZ AR was modified for exactly that reason. I'm pretty sure he means core access, though, as he pretty explicitly says that. |
| solbergb11-27-06, 08:49 AM | He said CORE spellls. not LIMITED spells. Read the original post, first sentence. |
