have a char that just made 3rd lvl .... pal 1 Rog 1 I am working on Shadowbane inquisitor... so I am trying to decide between these 2 feats at 3rd lvl

Weapon focus would have me Locked into paladin to 4th lvl paladin

Devoted inquisitor would allow me to multiclass between the 2 up untill the shadowbane point + give me a stun ability

whatever I dont get now I'll get at 6th .... so basically between 3 and 6th which one is gonna do me the most good

Get the Devoted Inquisitor feat. The +1 to hit is not as important as being able to interweave Rogue and Paladin levels.

well apparently the PrC of Shadowbane inquisitor allows that as well (I use hero forge and it lists it as a class ability) dont quote me that that is exact as I havent been able to find it in Text

my 2 paths are Like this

1 Rog (Power attack)
2 pal
3 pal (Devoted Inquisitor
4 Rog
5 Pal
6 Pal (Weapon Focus
7 Sha

OR

1 Rog (Power attack)
2 pal
3 pal (Weapon Focus)
4 pal
5 Pal
6 rog (Devoted inquisitor)
7 Sha

so both Feats will come either way and my progress to Shadowbane wont be hindered its just 2 different paths to the same goal

Is Devoted Inquisitor really necessary for the build? You'll have the ability to multi-class freely between Paladin, Rogue, and Shadowbane Inquisitor anyways once you start taking levels in the PrC.

if I go with Route A then yes ...

Benifits to Route A = lvl 4
evasion, Reflex +1

Benifits to Route B = lvl 4
Immunity to Fear
Divine Health
+1 Reflex Will

as it stands I have 6 days to decide

Personally, I'd go with Route B for the BAB, Saves, and Immunity to Fear. I'd also probably drop the Devoted Inquisitor feat for something else, but that's just me. Of course, that depends on what your region/party needs more of...fighting abilities or skills.

Devoted Inquisitor is not that great in the low levels because you don't have all that many smite evils to use it with. It is okay later on, when you can take Extra Smite and get extra Paladin smites and extra Shadowbane smites at the same time.

I would go something like:

1 Rogue: Power Attack, Improved Initiative
2 Paladin
3 Paladin: Improved Smiting
4 Paladin
5 Paladin
6 Rogue: Divine Might
7 Rogue
8 SI
9 SI: Extra Smite
10 SI: Improved Sunder
11 SI
12 SI: Combat Brute
13 SI
14 SI
15 SI: Leadership

Rogue: Power Attack
2 Paladin
3 Paladin: Improved Smiting
4 Paladin
5 Paladin
6 Rogue: Divine Might
7 Rogue
8 SI
9 SI: Extra Smite
10 SI: Improved Sunder
11 SI
12 SI: Combat Brute
13 SI
14 SI
15 SI: Leadership

this char is a half elf so the 2nd 1st lvl feat isnt an option
I believe Improved Sunder is a Bonus Feat someplace in the Shadowbane inquisitor progression
and I'm looking at having my 1st level in this class at 7th
(4/2/1)
but outside of that I'll need to look into those feats

If he's a half-elf meleer with high Charisma, you really ought to consider Outcast Champion.

Because Half-Elves really are outcasts ;-)

Take another level Rogue. Take your feat that allows you to multi-class freely, and then take another level in Paladin. Get Charisma enhancing items to beef up your saving throws, and that way the Rogue Evasion/Super-Paladin Reflex save goes up and up.

Vest of Resistance +1, at least of Charisma of +3, and with your Rogue bonuses...you won't have a bad Reflex saving throw at all. It'd be nice to get some Pious Templar with Mettle in here somewhere, but it can't always be perfect- can it?
