What direction to take a kobold sorcerer? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm making a kobold sorcerer for the Greyhawk ruins arc (along with everyone and their sister, I know). But I can't really figure out what direction to take the build, so I'm looking for suggestions. Here are my current thoughts:

I'm taking Dragon Wings. So that's my first feat slot. I doubt I have the room in the build for Improved Dragon Wings, unfortunately.

Since I'll get access to 7th level slots at 14th level, I have a "free" level to lose spellcasting advancement before retirement. I was originally thinking of picking up a level of Rogue and going with trapfinding/search/disable device, but I'm thinking probably the only thing more common than kobold sorcerers in Greyhawk Ruins is going to be rogue-types. It would be great if I found an interesting prestige class that most people shy away from because it loses a level of spellcasting.

I figure I've got three basic directions to choose from:
Direct damage boom-mage (maybe Spellwarp Sniper)?
Sneaky magic rogue (maybe Unseen Seer)?
Utility caster (maybe Fatespinner)?

Anyone got any advice or suggestions?

Since you can afford to lose a slot of spellcasting, you can go Dracolexi. It loses one lvl of spellcasting at 1st level, but it has some really cool ablities.

But I suspect a lot of kobold casters are going dracolexi, and I was hoping for something a little more off the beaten path.

A Holy Scourge of Bahamut out of Complete Mage could be a fun option.

Elemental Savant?

Mage of the Arcane Order?

Sacred Exorcist?

Eldritch Knight? (w/ Paladin or Marshal)
