What to do for a warmage... [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-25-07, 09:32 AM Ok, I've built up a warmage with 12 wis, 16 charisma, and 14 Int.

It's human, and I want to start with a decent domain (granted by arcane disciple) I was going to do the standard healing domain, but is there something a bit versatile I could take? I was thinking of either Good or Purification I think.

Another thing, whats a good secondary feat, and should I change the Int to 16 and Cha to 14?

Any other helpfull suggestions would be appreciated, and flavor wise I want him to be a fairly proactive do gooder, so I'd prefer to stay away from neutral or questionable gods (For example: Pholtus)

05-25-07, 09:36 AM if u can't think of a good secondry feat consider making the character a grey elf and have 16 chr and int. otherwise i would say point blank shot followed by precise shot at 3rd

05-25-07, 11:10 AM I think there are really two great choices.

Healing is the first one, and Travel is the second.

And you'll want a higher WIS than that. I'd lose some INT, warmage edge isn't as good, in my opinion, as a lot of people think. It's amazing at low levels, but by 10th level, the difference between 10d6 +2 and 10d6 isn't going to matter very much.

05-25-07, 03:48 PM There's nothing dodgy (or Neutral) about Pholtus.. it's his followers you have to keep an eye on.

05-25-07, 04:29 PM Well, if you are wanting to go the holy route, warmages make a good class to roll into the holy scourge pre class. seems to fit the flavor of your build

well in that case the well read feat makes all know skills class skills and if ur human the xtra feat can go there and u will have more skill points for other know skills

On the whole, they are pretty similar. Don't expect any great differences. However, LG uses the Complete Arcane version. I -think- there are some differences in the spell list, but I'm at work sans books.

05-29-07, 10:37 AM Well, I was at a friends over the weekend for a few mods and worked out the 'not being able to take the feat unless i was a wizard' for myself, and am currently on a rethink of the character.

Basically go for 16 Int, fair dex, 14 Cha, 8 wis, make him focused on rays and such, and be a gunslingin advocate of murlynd.
