| thorinXXX06-15-07, 02:45 PM | I have a 7th level character and I am wondering what to do for the rest of his career. Current plan is stay Pious Tempar til level 15. Level 9 feaat I was thinking about Divine Vigor. All further stat bumps will be Strength. Any suggestions? Thanks. Male Human (Oeridian) St 14 Dx 10 Cn 12 In 10 Wi 14 Ch 16 1 Cleric (Hieroneous-good/war)- Extra Turning, Power Attack, (Weap Foc Longsword) 2 Pal 3 Pal Divine Might 4 Pal (Ch bump) 5 Pal 6 Pal True Believer 7 Pious Templar |

I would suggest Divine Shield or Melee Weapon Mastery (Slashing) or Improved Critical Then beg borrow and steal to get access to Ordained champion (Hieroneous). The class may be Open, Closed or NoNC by then who knows. If it is closed then... bummer if it is open (which I kinda doubt) then golden otherwise get a special mission if you can. The first level gives you a domain and allows you to sacrifice two domain powers to gain 2 fighter feats, as long as it is not the War Domain Power. Take Melee Weapon Mastery if you have not and some thing fun. Add war domain spells to Pious templar casting. Make sure to take 4 levels. 12th level take Battle Blessing (divine sacrifice as a swift spell... nummy!) or Law Devotion and add it to attacks, Always power attack for the bonus given. As it has not been determined if they are open or closed you may need access or they may be gone. 14 Feat something not taken yet. 15 Extra turning for more smites and uses of divine abilities. so that would leave you with Cleric 1/ Paladin 5/ Pious Templar 3/ Ordained Champion 4/ Pious templar 2 for another feat and DR. Most important Items are Cloak of Charisma + 6 belt +4 (or 6) If you want a more defensive oriented build try the following 8 PT 9 PT Weapon Specialization, Divine Shield 10 OrC trade out domain powers for Shield specialization and shield ward 11 OrC 12 OrC Melee Weapon Mastery 13 OrC 14 PT Law Devotion 15 PT Protection Devotion |

| ithardin06-16-07, 02:34 AM | *tongue-in-cheek* I would also suggest you come up with a backstory response to the smart-aleck DMs (like myself) who ask where the Temple you are supposed to be guarding is :D Ian p.s. "Bite me" has already been taken :D |

"Bite me" has already been taken :D Actually one of our local players is currently planning a Pious Templar of Farlanghan who can answer that question. Am I standing on a road? If not we are obviously sanctifying this area to have a temple\road come through here. |

| kjenks06-18-07, 05:04 PM | Hieroneous is the Lord of Battle. The battlefield is my temple. That's a good response. You could also say, "It's next to the Bridge Over Svartjet. My temple is fully described in the LG Deities Document 3.0." |
| magebeast06-18-07, 08:40 PM | I have a monk/pious templar idea sitting on the backburner and his deity is Zuoken. I was just going to answer that I'm out questing for the location of Zuoken since he hasn't been seen for some time. |
| ithardin06-19-07, 12:21 PM | How about... "My body IS a Temple to ___________, so protecting IT is VERY important to me!" Ian |
| boolean06-21-07, 02:03 AM | 12th level take Battle Blessing (divine sacrifice as a swift spell... nummy!) Battle Blessing is of limited use to this build, as it only applies to paladin spells. (This doesn't include Pious Templar spells. PT might use the Paladin list to determine which spells they know, but it still doesn't count as casting paladin spells.) |
