| morvegil01-23-08, 09:50 PM | I'm playing in a RPGA event, i signed up for at www.owlcon.com THe APL is lvl6, so my question is do we make our own character? BDK7-02 A Manor of Seeking (LG) 1 table 1 judge (waitlisting) 5 players (1 open seat) IS what im playing, I picked level 7 Light Infantry character. Any help would be great. THis is my first time and I cant really find the info i need. Thanks, |

Playing a Level 1 at APL 6 will mean you take half XP and gold but you are permitted to play. It will be dangerous but you will get good access. |
| morvegil01-24-08, 12:21 AM | Ahh okay, do you post you character somewhere or something? |
| Redfist01-24-08, 12:43 AM | No - just bring it with you. It helps if you've read the LGCS before arriving. It will explain the paper trail that follows your character (ARs = Adventure Records, etc.). |
| Mr.Black01-24-08, 02:21 AM | Make sure you're signed up, then go to the warhorn page http://www.warhorn.net/owlcon2008/ You need to be cleared for sign up before you can put yourself in the schedule. Click "register to attend" and follow the steps. If you're still not cleared for sign up, email the con coordinator. If all else fails, join the CLAG yahoo group and we'll try to work it out. http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/clag_houston/ If this is the first time you're creating a character, it's basically 28 point buy, start at first level. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/welcome All necessary information can be found here, particularly the Living Greyhawk Campaign Standard, but the best way is to sit at a table and create a character and see if you like the game style. |

You will be making a first level character, so if you can manage to do so I'd try to get into an APL 2 game. Even level 2 characters are mildly out of place in an APL 4 game, and we're talking about a level 1 in an APL 6 game...high likelihood of death unless the Judge pulls their punches. If you don't have any other options but the APL 6 game, consider making a character who fights at range. Even if you want a melee build, buy a crossbow/bow/sling/whatever with your starting gold plus a heap of ammo and use that in the APL 6 game. This makes it easier/more reasonable for the Judge to pull their punches without it seeming silly. Depending on how you position your character relative to the battles, they might not have to pull a punch at all, since you won't be a primary target. |
| morvegil02-11-08, 05:15 PM | Thanks everyone. I went to the event and the Coordinator guy was real cool, I had my 1st level LG character pre-made so when I went to the Noobie table I was actually the only one prepared! Now the question is, is there any other RPGA things in Houston? |
| jhorred02-12-08, 02:00 AM | Coolness. Welcome to LG. Perhaps the best thing to do is to find your region's website (http://www.bandit-kingdoms.net/) and check that out. Should hopefully give an idea of where to look for more players. |
