| _metz_12-11-07, 09:26 PM | Ok, I have access to have gate cast FOR my PC. From the LGCS: If calling a type of creature, the caster may choose any outsider from the MM. The called creature must be given an immediate task; it will not perform contractual service without campaign documentation. Ok - so I call a Solar, and I pay the 1,000xp. Now I wish for something. What can I wish for? Is it possible to get the stat boost as per the listed options of wish? What is the defenition of misfortunate? I checked the LGCs and it was unclear on the actual applications of Wish. I would like them clarified a bit. The impression i get is that Wish cannot be used for a stat boost in LG, but I wanted to make sure. Just some things to peruse, as the campaign is ending and I am looking to use up my more powerful favours... |

You can't wish for stat-boosts in LG, because the LGCS lists the ways in which Wish may be used in the campaign, and that's not one of them (the allowed options are: duplicate spells, remove injuries and afflictions, revive the dead, transport travellers, and undo misfortune). If you read the Wish spell, there are a number of bullet point options: the LGCS ruling effectively eliminates "create a nonmagical item", "create a magic item", "grant a creature a +1 inherent bonus to an existing ability score", and the option to attempt to create a greater effect. The "undo misfortune" application is described in the Wish spell itself. It allows you to force a reroll of any roll made within the last round. Finally, how do the stat booster books work - if I hav eaccess say, to 2 +1 Int books, or 2 +1 Cha books, do they stack? As per the RAW it appears they do as they are both inherent bonuses - which stack to a maximum of +5 but I may be wrong. Where are you getting this? Repeated Wishes cast in quick succession can be used to get an inherent stat boost of higher than +1, but the spell is explicit that inherent stat boosts to the same stat do not stack ("inherent bonuses to a particular ability score do not stack, so only the best one applies"). |

I see, oh well. I just noticed the inherent thing, silly me. Oh well the gate spell doesn't look that useful then access wise. By the RAW it seems that I cannot even undo a reincarnate... |

| CdrcJsn12-14-07, 12:45 AM | 1) Wait for a big battle interactive 2) Cast Gate 3) ??? 4) Profit! (Personally, I think 3) should be to summon a Solar to serve you tea during the fight and hold your coat, defintely impressing the bad guys you're smushing.) |
