Could you add the Heart of Stone spell under Spell Clarifications to allow it to continue in benefit beyond one mod. Technically you could cast this spell (which has a duration of one year) every mod, burn the 500xp cost every mod, and benefit from it every mod. Now are you gaining a nice benefit from a spell that is core, or are you slowing down your advancement to avoid retirement? And other than a fool who tells everyone, "hey look at me, look at me, I'm slowing down my retirement and gaining mad gp!!!" how do you prove the later without it being "well I don't like that guy so he must be slowing down retirement"?
