I have access to Bane(Undead), Bane(Evil Outsider), and a few others. If I want to purchase the Bane on arrows, must I purchase 20 for 8001 gp? Can I purchase one for 401 gp, 10 for 4001 gp, etc.?

Actually, magic ammunition is priced at 50 to one, not 20 to one (i.e., enhancing 50 arrows to +1 costs the same as enhancing one weapon to +1).

And, you're forgetting the masterwork cost. 50 +1 bane arrows would cost 8350 gp, according to the SRD.

That said, I have no idea if you can purchase them "a la carte." My suspicion is no, but I could be wrong.

AR access can sometimes let you buy arrows "one at a time".

I've seen that both with adamantine and with bane enhancements.

Take 8302.5/50 and that is your price per arrow.

10305/50 for cold iron arrows

11002.5/50 for adamantine arrows

etc.

Actually, it'd be 8350/50, or 167 gp each.

According to the SRD, "masterwork" adds 6gp to the price of each piece of ammo, which would mean that 1 masterwork arrow should cost 6gp, 5cp (since arrows normally cost 1gp for 20). But, if you reverse-engineer the cost of a masterwork arrow from the chart in the DMG, you get a cost of 7gp each; it'd appear that they rounded up.
