e.g. I lend Iconic-Character-of-Choice (not Lidda) 2 gp so she has JUST enough to buy her Cold-Iron mace.

She has 2gp at the end of the module to give to me. Can do that according to common sense, can't do it according to the Trade Policy.

I didn't pick up that restriction in my reading.
You can lend money... they must repay money at the end
You can only lend money to buy something you have access to however (dunno why that's there).

I didn't pick up that restriction in my reading.

The sentence I was referring to:

Surviving loaned items and anything purchased with borrowed gold
reverts back to your PC at the end of the game

That's obviously assuming "wholly purchased with borrowed gold"....

I thought this section was confusing as well.

1. "but their loss is reflected on your MIL"...

I think what this is trying to say is "if it is lost for some reason, you lose it from your MIL." but it sounds like you remove it from your MIL immediately on loaning the item.

2. "Items that the lender is not allowed to keep must be sold and as much gold as possible returned in its place."

This sentence is confusing. I can't imagine what circumstance this is referring to, especially considering my friend can't buy an item I don't have access to.

3. The sentence on NPC services
I guess this means that if you loan money that is then spent on NPC spellcasting, you can't recoup that money.

It seems to me that banning the loan of money would make this section simpler without having any serious negative consequences. Loaning items is simpler - the item reverts to the original owner.

If we want to allow money, I wouldn't mind a rule that allows a "party fund" to be set up where anything bought must be sold back for half value by the end of the adventure and redistributed to the group. It would be better still if this pool could be replenished by over-cap gold.

Example: 5 adventurers pool 150gp each at the beginning of the adventure for a wand of CLW (someone has access). At the end of the adventure, all the loot is sold (including the depleted wand) and there is 800gp/player left in the pool. The gp cap was 675gp. The 800gp is reduced by the 150 spent at the beginning, so each player recieves 650gp net.

Under the existing rules, what would happen in this scenario?
