If a character uses an animated shield, do they still retain the benefits of the Shield Ward feat? What about the Knight's Shield Block class ability?

Animated shields work EXACTLY as if you are using a shield normally.

The only difference is that you now have an extra hand free to do stuff with.

This also means that any penalties a shield might have (Arcane failure, armor check penalties, etc) still apply.

So, anything that you could do when holding a shield, you can still do with an animated shield.

Technically this means you can shield bash with it too. Whoo!
