AR allowing Centaurs [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-17-06, 03:21 AM Ok here is a question for someone. I just started playing LG back on June 23rd of this year. I have, as the end of the most recent reporting period, 28 rewards points. The information I have about being able to make a Centaur states that I must have my nice little plastic card and this AR to be able to play a Centaur. Do I need to wait and hope I receive this card before I can do this, or can a DM and I verify together my rewards points and allow me to make a Centaur ?

09-17-06, 03:34 AM At this point, you probably won't get the card before the end of the year.

Just get a copy of the Centaur AR.

09-17-06, 04:58 AM I have the AR. Thats not the problem. I dont want to create and run a character that will be invalidated. Yes sure I will get the card eventually so who will know, but finding the DM that will just sign off on that is another thing. I would like to hear something from the circle or maybe someone from a triad (i am a dyvers resident). Just trying to follow the rules as best as I can is all

09-17-06, 08:57 AM I've never heard that you have to litteraly have the card in hand. Just that you have to be a rewards member. Just print out the screen that shows your rewards points on this site and I'd presume most people would find that acceptable. I certainly would.

Your first module with the centaur must be blood on the bright sands. That module will retire at the end of the year. So don't wait too long.

"To play a Hueleneaer PC a player must be a D&D REWARDS member and have a special starting adventure record (AR) distributed in Polyhedron issue 142. A player must bring both the AR and their D&D Rewards card when they play Cor5-06 Blood on Bright Sands to start playing a Hueleneaer character"

So this makes me wonder how many people out there are playing Centaurs out side of the rules ?

So this makes me wonder how many people out there are playing Centaurs out side of the rules ?

If any local would have played a Centaur, I definetly would have required them to show both (the card or proof of 20 reward points). When running online, verifying that people who play centaur are doing it legally is of course harder but it's probably something that needs to be done.

Screencapture of reward points should function in this case, provided I can see the amount of reward points and when 'blood' was played. If there are irregularities, it is simple enough to email respective triad to audit said character and remove it from campaign if foul play is detected.

09-19-06, 07:08 AM Ok got a reply from the local Triad and basically they have said that it is not within their pervue. So anyone from the Circle that could give me an idea ?

There are several others within my group that want to play the mod and a couple want Centaurs also. They have been in LG for longer than I since its barely been 3 and a half months for me. I would hate to eat the mod and run it for them to only find out that my card came in the mail. Or make them wait and try and rush the mod in at the end of the year before it expires.

Which only makes sense, given that it's an issue with a Core module (or, a Core story arc). That, then, puts it in Creighton Broadhurst's purview. His contact info is in the LGCS.

09-19-06, 05:37 PM Go ahead and bring a printout of your Rewards activity when you play Blood on Bright Sands. That should suffice in lieu of the Rewards card.
