| ARlife12-31-06, 12:39 AM | Ok, I got access to an Core access to Armor of the unending hunt. The AR says its 10,900. Complete Warrior says its 21,500. Which of these do I pay? Does the original source overide the AR or vice versa? |
| jstorrie12-31-06, 04:26 AM | The AR entry is likely a typo, as 10,900 is the cost in GP to craft such an armor. But unless you're playing a barbarian or dervish, it won't be a steal even at 10,900. |
| DroidTrooper12-31-06, 03:12 PM | So its a typo. I believe that. Is it proper to pay the typo price or the book price? What if the error is in the other direction (the price on the AR is greater than the price in the relevent book)? |

What if the error is in the other direction (the price on the AR is greater than the price in the relevent book)? I pay the higher of the two prices unless there is a favor referencing a discount. If I need an in-game justification, I consider it a locally rare commodity. David |

But unless you're playing a barbarian or dervish, it won't be a steal even at 10,900. Don't underestimate it. Because of the immunity to fatigue and exhuastion, the armor also indirectly eliminates the need for sleep, which is nice for non-casters. |
| Japangirl12-31-06, 03:53 PM | As it is obviously a typo, pay the higher price. In fact, I'm fairly certain that book prices always override AR prices, as mistakes there are so common. But I don't feel like looking it up right now :) I'm lazy. |
| ARlife12-31-06, 04:07 PM | Shucks, well that bites. 10k for +2 mithral chainmail that gives immunity to fatigue and exhaustion? I would save up every gold piece i had for it. I mean, so what if i dont get back 1 or 2 spell slots...I can stay up all night and make sure the party doesnt get Coup de Gras... Well guess I have to settle for the Elven Chain then.....grumble grumble grumble.... |
| Japangirl12-31-06, 05:04 PM | Why not a mithril chain shirt? It's just better than Elven Chain. Elven chain has +5 armor, +4 max Dex, and -2 armor check penalty. Mithral shirts have +4 armor, +6 max Dex, and no armor check penalty. Also, mithral shirts cost 1,100 gp and Elven Chain costs 4,150. If weight is the problem, mithral shirts weigh 10 pounds and Elven Chain weighs 20 pounds. And you need access to both, and mithral shirts are extremely common from what I've seen. In sum: Elven Chain: +5 armor, +4 Dex, -2 ACP, 20 lbs, 4150 gp Mithral Shirt: +4 armor, +6 Dex, -0 ACP, 10 lbs, 1100 gp |
| Arvagor12-31-06, 05:55 PM | In sum: Elven Chain: +4 armor, +4 Dex, -2 ACP, 20 lbs, 4150 gp Mithral Shirt: +4 armor, +6 Dex, -0 ACP, 10 lbs, 1100 gp Mithral chainmail (aka elven chain) is a +5 armor bonus, not +4 ... |
| Japangirl12-31-06, 06:21 PM | Oops. I got some crossed lines when I looked at the chart, apparently. I fixed it. Mithral shirt is still better :) |

| LGMoses12-31-06, 08:54 PM | yeah but elven chain is all leafy and looks all elven and cool. |
| Jay_Ibero_91112-31-06, 09:49 PM | It may be wrong...but my Dwarf wears Elven Chain.... |
| clannagh01-01-07, 05:40 PM | It may be wrong...but my Dwarf wears Elven Chain.... Deep wardens in Mithral chain are just wrong :P |
| Jay_Ibero_91101-01-07, 06:42 PM | Deep wardens in Mithral chain are just wrong :P Not a deepwarden...just an 18 dex Dwarf... |
| Madfox1101-03-07, 05:52 AM | Oops. I got some crossed lines when I looked at the chart, apparently. I fixed it. Mithral shirt is still better :) Depends on your character. Although obviously, a mithral breast plate is better than elven chain. As for the original question: the prices in the book always overrule the prices mentioned on the AR unless the word 'discount' is used in the text of the favor at the top.
