11-17-06, 09:30 PM Under Magic Item creation, in LGCS, p 54, it says that if you are able to purchase a +2 flaming longsword, then you can craft a +2 flaming falchion, assuming you meet the prerequisites.

1) From that, it seems that you can craft any standard PHB weapon to a +2 flaming weapon. Is this correct?

2) Since you would have to be able to craft a +2 weapon to craft the above and have to be able to craft the flaming special ability to craft the above, it would seem that you would also be able to craft any +2 standard PHB weapon, and you would also be able to craft any +1 flaming standard PHB weapon. Is this correct?

3) Since you could purchase a +2 flaming longsword, could you also purchase it a bit at a time by first getting a +1 longsword, then upgrading it to either a +2, a +1 flaming, or the +2 flaming, at a later time?

4) Does access to purchase the +2 flaming longsword, also give you access to purchase any +2 standard PHB weapon, or the flaming special abilty(assuming it is already +1) also to any standard PHB weapon you want?

Trying to figure out how these rules work, now that the characters I judge and my own characters move out of 1st level and into 2nd and 3rd levels.

11-17-06, 09:46 PM 1) More accurately, you can enchant any standard weapon, not just from the PH. For example, if you had access to a great scimitar and access to a +2 flaming longsword, you could craft a +2 flaming great scimitar.

2) I believe so, but not 100% sure.

3) No, you have access to a +2 flaming longsword. Imagine it is sitting on a shelf. You can't ask the merchant to downgrade it for you.

4) No.

11-17-06, 11:02 PM When will PHB II be incorperated in the Living Greyhawk setting I have some interesting ideas regarding a Duskblade / Paladin that becomes a Mystic Theurge.

11-18-06, 12:02 AM I wouldn't get your hopes to high. The last new LGCS did not open up any new base classes, only opened up one new prestige class, but also took one away, and about 10 hardbacks came out between the 595 LGCS and the 596 one.

When will PHB II be incorperated in the Living Greyhawk setting I have some interesting ideas regarding a Duskblade / Paladin that becomes a Mystic Theurge.
