| LachlarlanIII07-06-07, 11:18 AM | I can get access pretty easily to the Berserker Strength alternate class feature. Is Berserker Strength worth it over standard Rage? Does Reckless Rage work with Berserker Strength? Thanks! |
| jstorrie07-06-07, 11:40 AM | If you dipped Barbarian for Rage-Extra Rage, yes, Berserker Strength is better. If you're straight Barbarian, it's marginally worse. "Any effect that would normally apply only during your rage applies whenever your berserker strength is active," so, yeah, Reckless Rage would work, technically speaking–but you'd have to get Rage from another class to qualify for it. If you trade out your Rage class feature for Berserker Strength you no longer qualify for any feats that have Rage as a prerequisite... |

| jstorrie07-06-07, 10:34 PM | Ooh. I had Berserker Rage mixed up with something else. Stalwart Pact, maybe? Yeah, straight Barbarian 15s only (or maybe Barbarian/Pious Templar 3s) need apply. |
| Ancillary07-08-07, 04:35 PM | Berserker Rage only works when you are "losing". You should only take it if you see your character getting the crap kicked out of him often. Even a well played barbarian will have this happen pretty often, since they are in front with mediocre armor, but I for primary class features I prefer things that improve your strengths rather than patch up shortcomings. It also has little place in an LG enviroment where 3 rages a day almost always covers you, except in specials. I like the idea of something that makes a barbarian more than a one level dip class but this is not it. Maybe if the threshhold was lower for going into it. |
