Can a rogue sneak attack with a whip? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-18-07, 11:43 PM 1d3 subdual damage, but none against most armored opponents. I imagine that means that you cannot get sneak attack damage with a whip against armored opponents, but what about opponents a whip does affect?

06-18-07, 11:57 PM You can sneak attack with any weapon, unless you pick up some bizarro weapon that specifically says otherwise.

IMO the sneak wouldn't affect armored opponents, since the whip doens't do damage at all (in the same way that magic bonuses, bard song, high Str etc, don't get through either).
