berpo 04-02-07, 08:03 AM	Hi all, I know for sure that for exemple if I add flaming twice on a sword, I will not add second d6 of fire. But last week I have decided to put Death Ward again on my armor and the DM said that is useless and illegal!!! Is that so ? Since death ward is something usable once a day. So why not putting it twice for the double protection. (Double protection ?!? lol it's like an advertising!!!) Thanks for the help on that. A guy who want to survive.
_metz_ 04-02-07, 10:08 AM	the armour is already warde, it has the same effect on it, you don't get to double up, its just how the rules work. In theory if you could they'd both go off at the same time anyways, in the specific example... Its just not allowed, read the rules when regarding to enhancements buffs etc and what stacks and what doesn't. Its pretty clear no double stacking.

Just put it on your shield instead of a second shot on your armor. That way, you may get to do it twice a day (right now there is table variation on whether you get to choose if it goes off or if it automatically goes off - when/if MIC comes, the ability is explicitly an activated one).

As I mentioned earlier, there is table variation on whether the version of death ward printed in Complete Arcane is automatic or voluntarily activated (while it is explicitly a voluntarily activated ability in Magic Item Compendium, and in fact an immediate action so you cannot use a death ward armor and death ward shield in the same round). If you are planning to use both a death ward armor and death ward shield, check with your DM to see what their opinion is.
clik_ml 04-03-07, 04:12 AM	I was suggesting having the shield stowed instead of worn (until needed) so that you don't have to deal with table variation. Sorry for the confusion.

" Marc That's also an expect table variation issue, given that Complete Arcane also lists a buckler as a "specific armor". For the record, I've used a death ward mithral buckler for over a year (and this was long before I became Triad), and nobody ever told me I couldn't do that. Also for the record, Magic Item Compendium clears this up as well, so when/if the book becomes an official source for the campaign, all these issues will quietly go away.
