| Ferol, Debtor of Torm01-30-08, 01:52 PM | There is a strong possibility my greyhawk ruins character has accidently gotten himself "retired" and will no longer be playable. I've heard people mention something about transfering the CGR records to a new character's stack, but I can't find anything about this in the CGR sourcebooklet. Am I screwed? |
| Timlagor01-30-08, 01:58 PM | See the Dispel Confusion ..you do have to start again at first level iirc. |
| Ferol, Debtor of Torm01-30-08, 02:09 PM | The dispel confusion doesn't say anything about this kind of situation. |

I don't believe you can bequeth your stuff to a new CGR character, but you can start one new Greyhawk character per CGR mod, for a total of four characters. That is one per mod (CGR7-02, CGR7-03, CGR8-01 and CGR8-02) and not per part (CGR7-02:1, CGR7-02:2, etc). |

You may start a new character in each of the four CGR adventures. This is a new CGR character with all the normal requirements (must be L1 when it plays it's first CGR). This involves no AR transfer. There is no option to transfer all of the CGR ARs. The FAQ at the back of the the GR Sourcebook also provides an option if your character dies, which is to make a new character, with the first CGR AR from the old character as the first AR of the new character. The purpose of this rule is to allow you to play the remaining portions of the multi-part adventure in which you died. There is not a specific reference for being able to transfer the AR in conditions other than non-recovered death, such as lack of TUs or reincarnation as a goblin. I believe that the intent of the AR transfer is to insure that only one living character is available in a given adventure per player. To that end, I understand the transfered AR to be for reference purposes only, but you don't gain the benefit of the access, gp, or xp from that AR. Likewise, it seems like you should be able to transfer that evidence-of-play oriented AR to another PC who is still first level. These two points are not clearly supported by the language of the rule, though. David |
| Timlagor01-30-08, 03:31 PM | I believe you can use the first CGR AR on a new character if die mid-mod as well (it's not entirely clear but I believe you get none of the benefits of that AR beyond becoming an CGR character. [possibly an idea that they abandoned] NB: you don't need a CGR character to play the ADP ..and I get the impression that all teh CGRs will start at APL2 (though I may well be wrong). |

CGR7-02 (the complete one vice 7-01 which is only half) is APL 2. 7-03 is 2 to 4, then 2 to 6 for CGR8-01 and finally 2 to 8 for 8-02. |
