how are costly material components handled in LG? Components such as the 100 gp pearl to cast identify. How are they obtained?

All such gems are presumed available and are freely sellable at full cost. Who is to say that you aren't carrying a bunch of 5000g diamonds or 100g pearls to represent your wealth? However, non-gem costly components and costly focuses must be bought and detailed on your AR.

Britt or another Triad/Circle member can feel free to contradict me, this is just my understanding of how it works.

I think non-coin value must be noted on your character sheet. I always carried my gold in diamonds, as so many things needed diamonds or diamond dust, and it exchanges at full value. So if you have costly material components that aren't weird (like the stuff in Frostburn), make sure you note on your character sheet that X amount of your gold is in Y components. Or put it on your MIL.

Q: Do I have to have a specific spell component listed on my sheet to use the spell?
A: No. As long as the component is readily available (does not state it requires campaign documentation, is from the PH, and is not a planar fork) then you merely need to cross the cost in gold off your AR at the end of the event.

Just put it on your AR as other coin spent or list it as an item bought for the mod you use the spell. If you need a planar fork, coldfire or some other exotic component, you'll need access to it first and have to buy it ahead of time.
