Or should I say, can I get him to enchant my armor and weapons if I pay the cost (Short of EXP which I'm sure have to come from the crafter). My guess is... no. That would be far to convenient. Though it would be fully reasonable, instead, for that person to craft it from their own personal stores of cash and "lend" it out at the beginning of each session... Also, would a person who has the prerequisite spells to create a magical item still need an AR saying he has access to buying the magical item before he can make the magical item? You know, in spite of the fact he already has all the prerequisites to making it himself? I'm sorry if I sound bitter, I keep finding that Living Greyhawk seems to be working against the players. |

Your friend could craft them out of her/his own money, XP, and TUs and lend them out if s/he so chose. It does seem unfair, and in some ways it is. But the potential for abuse if crafted items could be sold to other players is monstrous, as is the potential paperwork. Living Greyhawk, because of the international nature of the campaign, is less flexible than home campaigns. Sometimes that's really nice (reasonably consistent rules, pre-made modules, etc), sometimes it isn't (crafting is very overpowered). |
