Ok I had heard somewhere that when crafting that you need Spellcaster level and not Caster level to craft is this true ?

For example Gauntlets of Ogre Power are CL 6th. If I have say 5 levels of Cleric and something that gives me 1 more caster level (PRC or Practiced spellcaster etc) can I not craft this item ? I need to have a full 6 levels of Cleric to do it ?
Because there is a big difference betwwen Spellcaster level and Caster level

Also on Crafting Magic Arms and Armor. If I had access at one time to Green Starmetal can I when crafting create say a +1 Greenstarmetal Battleaxe ?

Incorrect. The requirement is (a) having had access in some form and meeting minimum caster level or (b) it being a DMG item and you being 2 caster levels higher than minimum.

Thus a Wizard/Mage of the Arcane Order, or a Wizard/Fighter/Spellsword with Practiced Spellcaster, can still craft an item that requires a 2nd-level spell plus a "caster level" of 10 for instance.

Now, there are a couple items that specify "CLERIC level 10" in the DMG, and for those you have to be straight Cleric. Strand of Prayer Beads, I think, is the major one.

Which, of course, is thrown ALL out the window by the new LGCS Draft.

Caster level minimum: Gone.

If you can cast the spell, you can craft it....

Except for the items which require you to be a particular level, i.e. those which explicity have 'crafter must be at least ...' as a prereq.
